Re: WiiMC problems
If I need to order a piece of hardware and solder it in my console, it's not easily hackable in my book.

Re: WiiMC problems
Xbox or Xbox 360? The original Xbox is nowhere near powerful enough. The Xbox 360 isn't easily hackable.

Re: how to play wii games?
So a broken DVD drive means that the Wii can't boot to the System Menu normally? If you can get to the System Menu through Priiloader, there are several USB loaders you can try. They all require some version of cIOS 249, though.

Re: WiiMC problems
I doubt YouTube is sending 720p video for the Wii to decode. It's pretty much always 360p (rarely 480p when the original video isn't widescreen).

Re: Gameboy Player 240p - What do I need?
Not at all. You do need one for 480p, but not for 240p. 240p is basically a clever hack of 480i, so it works just fine on RF, composite and RGB SCART.Duhasst0 wrote:He will need the component cable for the progressive output tho right?

Re: Game Boy Interface
I'm also interested in how (in)accurate the Game Boy Player is, as I own one myself but never hooked it up. For some people there seems to be a frame drop every couple seconds no matter the video mode.

@jlo138: That looks like proFormell, but that doesn't evaluate to a high font size either. (11px * 1.3em)

Re: Forum upgrade
The only thing I dont like is that the font size seems to be for people who have a really hard time seeing. Reminds me of a mobile site. font-size is first set to 10px, which for posts is then made 0.3 times larger, which evalues to 13px. That's not big at all. Are you using a different theme than ...

Not only here. The website where I look for job vacancies also upgraded.

What's this "2-3 frames latency" feature? Is it an option, or is this the expected latency when streaming the game from the network or something?

I've never installed Handbrake myself, but did you install or point to your ffmpeg installation? That'd explain it. Otherwise I have no idea.

Re: converting .THP video files to other formats?
The Windows version is not a native application. It requires the .NET Framework.AC_Orange wrote:I only ever converted the movies on Sonic Mega Collection, they were in Sofdec format.
Handbrake is available for Linux and Windows too

Re: converting .THP video files to other formats?
If ffmpeg can play it, it can convert it. Good luck finding a good GUI tool if you don't use a Mac, though. Use Handbrake if you use a Mac.
Personally I use it from the command line.

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
I just said it was trying to mount it's own disc. I don't think Swiss is aware of how it has booted, so the DVD in the drive could be anything. Man do I wish the Wii & GC had a real VGA cable like the Dreamcast & PS2. The PS2's official VGA cable is super rare and the console doesn't output...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
But why does it try to "initialize the DVD drive" everytime it boots up? Why would it mount the DVD if the only disc inside it is the Swiss disc itself? Because the disc inside might be a retail game. There are several ways of booting Swiss, you know. Swiss boot metod: Modified Swiss Boot...

No, it doesn't. I had the same problem. That's when Extrems gave me a custom build of the launcher, which works.Cisz. wrote:Does 576p work if launching on Wii from WiiPower's SwissBooter?

BenoitRen how are you booting your games? I use retail discs. EDIT: Put all relevant info in my signature, as it's not going to change any time soon. :) Other than Mega Man X, these titles have native 480p support. Why force? As I've said before, they are PAL versions, where the 480p option is inac...
