Re: Why do some GC discs from Datel have the CD logo printed on them?

Seeing as how they didn't use any format-related logos on other discs, I still find it strange that they slapped the CD logo on discs that weren't and couldn't be so. Seems unecessary and the discs that don't carry format logos prove they didn't have to use them. Yet, there they are... Oh well! Mayb...

Re: Why do some GC discs from Datel have the CD logo printed on them?

@Extrems That was always my assumption, indeed.
So the first example contains PC software. And the rest are regular GC DVD-based GODs.

¿ Any clue why they slapped the CD logo on those anyway?

Re: Why do some GC discs from Datel have the CD logo printed on them?

Well, sure, IF they were CDs, 220MB would be enough to fit these programs. That'd be fine, if capacity was the only impediment. But that doesn't solve the problem. My understanding is that the GC optical drive and media were a special modification of the DVD format that Nintendo comissioned to Panas...

Why do some GC discs from Datel have the CD logo printed on them?

It's been brought to my attention that some GC 8cm discs from Datel have the "COMPACT disc" logo printed on them. I don't believe this means that these discs are based on CD tech, but the guy that pointed me to this thinks that must be the reason, reasoning that otherwise they wouldn't hav...

GC disc image manipulation questions

Hello For a number of reasons I'm interested in doing some, I think, unusual thing to a number of GC images I have, mainly in order to reduce storage requirements. Usually I'm all for 1:1 copies, but in my current circumstances it may not be a priority, and I'd rather have a more streamlined "c...

I'd like that thing to work on a PC for Dolphin too... if it properly supports all the controller's features and it's not a game specific hack, that is.

He's trying to tell you that PAL releases tend to contain localization files for more than one language. Your "UK Version" is probably just a PAL European version that is sold in other Eurozone countries, the only difference being, probably, the box and the manual, the disc being the same....

thanks for the reply. It seems like I'm making some progress with the POT in the ~300ohm range. It's not working 100% right yet, though... It's quite tricky...

Just installed XenoGC, having trouble.

Re: Bi-Yearly support

I'm rarely active here (or anywhere) lately, but there ya go, $50 from me I'd like the site to stay EDIT: Don't count me in for the qoob draw, I already have a qoobed cube, and i don't see myself installing another one (I already have a couple of xenos waiting to be installed). I prefer someone else...

Re: is there a homebrew to bakcup savegames to SD?

yes there is. I don't currently have access to the disks where I store my gc app collection, but fortunatelly I do have access to the SD card where I have them. I haven't looked much into the software section of the site yet, and maybe they are there already, but just in case: http://www.filedropper...

Re: Feature request for future versions of emulators

kevstah, that works because of how LCDs work. It's probably useless on a CRT, or even an LCD fed with a standard 15kz video signal, since there will be rescaling, which would destroy the effect.

Re: Feature request for future versions of emulators

mmm, well, it's strange that lcds would be so picky about a non-shifting vsync signal, as that the only difference in LDTV vs. SDTV. one would think they'd just interpret it as interlaced and you'd get some flickering, combing or some other (minor?) visual artifact at worst. But refusing to display ...

Re: maby a stupid question but what are the differences betw

I don't have one myself, but I'm told that the adapter itself is the same as an sdgecko. That is, it follows the same specs. The Media Launcher is, therefore, a pack of sd-gecko + bootdisc that runs on unmodded consoles. I'm told the disc is cheap, though.

Feature request for future versions of emulators

I wanted to post this in a general emulation subforum, but it only allows for posting in forums specific to one emulator and ecluding the others, so I posted here instead. Move it if you feel like it. I would love if you could implement the original hardware's LDTV (240p/288p) display modes for the ...
