new video card, need to know what emulators it will support

I upgraded my old PC recently with an NVidia GTX 750 Ti SC 2GB video card, a 3.33GHz CPU, 500W PSU and maxed RAM at 8GB(the hardware won't really go better than this due to motherboard limits, OS & physical space in the case). Since this can run Skyrim at high settings fine I would assume it's m...

Re: trouble with the CD-ROM plugins for ePSXe

I just tried Mednafen, but it doesn't seem to like that Dell I run XP on, I couldn't get it to work at all. Alright, I can confirm it's either the drive or a plugin issue- I dug up a legit PS1 game disc I still own and had the very same stuttering/playback issues using that. I can rule out an issue ...

trouble with the CD-ROM plugins for ePSXe

Thought I'd burn all my Sega CD and PS1 images to CD to get them off the hard drive. No problems whatsoever burning Sega CD games and running them under Fusion. I'm having trouble with ePSXe's CD-ROM. I burned Castlevania SOTN to disc. I know it's good as I can play the ISO flawlessly. I am having i...

Re: modded GC vs Raspberry Pi for an emulator console?

I did end up getting a Pi, primarily for XBMC(as I don't have a monthly subscription satellite/cable service) but I also have an SD card set up with Raspbian as a backup OS with an internet browser. As for the PC, after 2 days the HDD in it failed. The original 80 GB Samsung drive had 30% bad sector...

Re: Stella runs very slow in OpenGL mode

I asked the Stella team head direct and he said it could be a driver issue- Dell uses their own chipset drivers for this PC, rather than Intel's own release, and while Intel has a newer driver, Dell didn't bother with it. He also said that version 4.0 will switch to Direct3D for the Windows port, la...

Re: question about s-video

I got a Vizio 22" TV recently and the s-video Gamecube picture doesn't look all that great, to be honest. My Gamecube lacks the digital out and I'd have to sell all my blood 5 times over to afford a component cable for it anyway. It'd be cheaper to get a Wii than that cable.

Stella runs very slow in OpenGL mode

I bought a Dell Optiplex 745 with Windows XP loaded as an older gaming PC- games that my 64-bit W7 can't handle, and emulators. I've set up most emulators just fine, but Stella has issues with OpenGL I can't solve. In fullscreen mode it's very slow. In windows mode, anything above 3X zoom is very sl...

I settled on a Dell Optiplex 745 for $65 shipped. Refurbished inspected unit with a fresh OS installed.

I may still get a Pi, though.

Re: modded GC vs Raspberry Pi for an emulator console?

Ebay prices are maybe $60 for a basic used PC with 512 MB of RAM, or pushing $100 for a beefier HDD, better ram, keyboard and mouse, for a fully seller refurbished model. Though I could split the difference... it'd cost more but I could get a cheap lower end PC for desktop use, and a JXD S7300 for g...

Re: modded GC vs Raspberry Pi for an emulator console?

I'll consider it, though the $150 average price tag is... a bit more than I hoped to pay, so it'll have to be a very good unit. I suppose another option might be a refurbished older PC with XP installed. That I know would have decent emulation of most consoles and would offer me the desktop function...

Re: modded GC vs Raspberry Pi for an emulator console?

The Ouya isn't actually out yet, and a lot of the cheaper Android devices look to be those cheap PSP shell clones- and I had one of those MP4/MP5 players before, it was basically junk that failed in every aspect of what it promised. I also want something with PC desktop use, I think, plus the abilit...

Re: modded GC vs Raspberry Pi for an emulator console?

I am really looking into one, but before I splurge on the unit, case, keyboard and mouse, SD cards... probably $100 total after all the needed stuff is bought... are there any other comparable computer units that could be just as useful for the price? Something that will run emulators with no issues...

modded GC vs Raspberry Pi for an emulator console?

I just learned of the mini computer Raspberry Pi and am thinking of getting one, juts because they're cheap and it'd be nice to have a backup computer to do stuff with if my Windows PC were to have issues(which Ive had several times now with this computer) without spending a fortune on another compu...

Re: Where to buy 8cm DVD-R/DVD+R GC-compatible discs these d

I've been buying RiData printable surface DVDs on eBay, about $7 for 10 or cheaper if you buy them in greater quantities. They're RITEKG04 discs. They mostly work for me, barring some bad burns I've had- which may be due to bad ISO files, bad discs, hard to say.

Re: Hu-Go! GX unofficial

There was also Strip Fighter II, the Japan-only mediocre fighting game, that used it. I wasn't aware it was just those 2 games though. Did any of the CD games use it? I use a PS1 controller via adapter for most of my emulation on the Gamecube as it works better than the stock controller. That has a ...

Re: Genesis Plus GX v1.7.2 Released

I'm running the emulator under Datel SD Media Launcher and using this SD card- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OM81SU/

Popful Mail has some minor audio issues in the opening scene. I heard nothing bad during the spoken dialog scenes in the game. It's BIN/CUE format.

Will this ever support a 6-button control pad? I know not many games used it but those that did are rather unplayable.

It'd probably mean giving up the rapid fire buttons but in my playing I never use them.

do I need a separate memory card for PAL games

I have a Xeno chipped NTSC Gamecube with a single Nintendo brand 1019 block memory card. There's not many PAL market games I want to track down- I've burned Neighbours From Hell, and may try Conan- but I've heard conflicting statements on saving PAL games to a card formatted for NTSC games. Should I...

Re: RetroArch GX - Gamecube - v0.9.8.3

What really bugs me about certain Gamecube homebrew apps is that so many of them only seem to work well on the Wii. I wanted to run GC Quake but it looks like the only updated versions require a Wii to work right. Can they even call it Gamecube homebrew if it doesn't work right on the Gamecube? I me...

console reset when accessing emulator menu

I was playing SNES9X on my Cube, through an SD card with a burned copy of SD Media Launcher and Wiikey SD adapter, and hit the c-stick left to access the menu. Next thing I know, the Gamecube console itself resets to the purple cube start-up animation. My next use of the emulator went without proble...

Re: Help with Emulators and controller adapters.

I just use a Playstation controller adapter myself. It's design is similar enough to the SNES to make it useful for NES and SNES, and isn't too bad for Genesis use. Use a PS1 controller though, I've heard of some minor issues with the pressure-sensitive PS2 controller buttons, and use a dual shock f...

Re: MegaLoader v1

I found an ISO of Datel's SD Media Launcher, 32 MB file, burned it.... and it works fine. So it's not the file size that seems to be the issue. I can run this, which will suffice for running emulators, but am still clueless why the Swiss and Megaloader files don't work.

I haven't tried the new version yet, but I've managed to burn several more working commercial games since my last attempt so I'm clueless as to why homebrew isn't working. Unfortunately I only have 8 blank discs on hand so I can't spare more than 2 for homebrew attempts. I would remove the case and ...
