Congrats and enjoy your trip! Make sure to hit up some used game shops for some goodies. I'm not sure I would consider stuff here cheap but it very well be cheaper than other areas!

Congrats on your new purchase!

I'd recommend installing a Drive chip regardless of what other options you go with. XenoGC chips are cheap and easy to install. At the least then you could easily use loader discs and beyond that benefit from built in audio fix and audio streaming support for backups.

I've been cleaning out my collection for a sale and found a fresh pack of a brand that has worked OK for me in the past. Optodisc Acro Circle is what is shown on the top label. You can pick them up on eBay for an OK price. Definitely not my preference over the Ritek discs, but I've never experienced...
