Re: Ascii Controller on a computer

It's a pretty awkward keyboard to use too, can barely recognise more than two simultaneous keys and half the punctuation is all over the place in non-qwerty locations.

Re: Memory card 1019: PAL/JPN game compatibility

There's a handful of games that aren't compatible with it due to being built using a buggy SDK. The regions aren't really relevant.

There's a very basic fat implementation (enough to find and load a specific file) in the twilight hack source code.

That should be plenty of room if you ditch libogc (write your own EXI functions...)

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

You can set a horizontal displacement from the cube's menu, but iirc it only allows about 16 pixels and isn't supported very well by homebrew.

The only way to "force" non-progressive mode via hardware is to not use the component cable.

Re: Swiss? Best way to store ISO's?

That limit would be 2GB since that is meant to be the cut-off size for standard SD vs. SDHC (which use slightly different protocols). There are a few non-SDHC 4GB cards but they're not common.

Re: Snes9x-GX with MSU-1 support

https://github.com/qwertymodo/snes9xgx/blob/msu1/source/snes9x/apu/apu.cpp#L330 This loop here looks wrong to me. - Allocating/releasing a buffer for every output cycle is inefficient (and the wrong delete operator is used) - it looks like spc and msu produce samples independently, but msu samples a...

Re: Can homebrews return to Swiss?

You mean with the USB Gecko? Does "Back to loader" only work with it (I imagine the devs are likely using one during development), or are the homebrews just doing the same as on the Wii and failing? It loads a .dol from the USBgecko's on-board flash, which is more complicated than loading...

Re: Can homebrews return to Swiss?

Wii homebrew returns by jumping to code (after checking for a matching check value) at 0x80001800, which is normally a stub placed there by HBC. GC apps could do the same (in fact it's been done, see geckoloader).

Re: Not64 Second Edition - an Hybrid Heaven emulator

I've told them their segmented memory support is incorrectly implemented but they don't care, because bragging about booting all known retail games is more important than homebrew. Dolphin's MMU emulation should be able to handle any retail game at this point. The only people that could possibly bre...

Re: Dumping Datel unlicensed discs?

Cleanrip won't do it. I remember someone wrote some sort of patch that ran the disc and dumped only the parts of it that were accessed/as they were being read, since the rest is full of garbage that throws read errors and isn't important.

Re: [PAL] RGB and 480p trick?

Minor correction: the internal framebuffer (where the GPU does all its work) is RGB, the external framebuffer (where the TV encoder reads from) is YUV. The point still stands that RGB output is inferior due to the source always being YUV. (Minor minor correction: the internal framebuffer can be conf...

Supposedly Dolphin now fully supports virtual memory (see their blog post about being able to play "every" GC game) but I wouldn't count on it.
