Re: Game Boy Interface
Thanks a lot Extrems! I can't thank you enough for making this. Xaranar When you go into it you should get a list of parameters. Keep scrolling down to reach brightness and contrast options. It's only in gbi not in ll on ull. Also I noticed the rotation option.....gameboy.....on a rotated screen I c...

Re: Game Boy Interface
I just discovered this amazing piece of software. When I set 4:3 and 3x zoom it 100% vertically fills the screen without horizontal stretching. I'm running this on a pal gamecube into a ntsc crt hacked to input rgb and the sharpness / image quality is amazing. All three versions work fine on my setu...

Re: 240p for Game Boy Player
Does the 240p upgrade the image quality over s-video? This is amazing. Sorry if this has already been answered I just found out about this.

Re: Gameboy player audio tap points and sound improvement mo
Hmm that sounds like a pain. I guess I'll just keep the bypass setup I have instead of risking messing up the circuit unless someone can figure out the strengths of these caps.

Re: Gameboy player audio tap points and sound improvement mo
Thanks a lot for the schematic megalo. It looks like C129/130 could be low pass filter caps they connect audio lines to what appears to be ground. Perhaps removing those caps will clean up the audio, I'll try it out later. I would do it now but our house is currently going through a Christmas time p...

Re: Gameboy player audio tap points and sound improvement mo
Sexy. I love this kind of stuff from you man! Thanks for sharing. :D My pleasure. I showed Tiido some of your professional case making in one of your worklogs and it gave him ideas of how to make perfect looking cases for cheaper than 3d printing. Also a big thanks to ace for finding the right lpf ...

Gameboy player audio tap points and sound improvement mod.
Has anyone pointed this out yet? If so please ignore this thread. *edit* Whoopsies, I just found that there's a modding sub forum, someone please move this thread there. My buddy ace mentioned the gb player has really muffled audio on the gamecube. I finally noticed the muffle myself so I cracked op...

Re: My first GCp
Yeah when I hit a snag I start doing research to see if I can find out just exactly what went wrong and how to fix it. Sometimes a project of mine will get shelved for months before I gain the skills and tools to fix it or continue it. Modders should always realistically expect a project to not go s...

Re: My first GCp
Thanks for the compliments dude. I decided to use the spots instead of the dvd port because I tried to use it, and it didn't work, I got a dim red led. Not enough power and possibly a short there. So I took the port out of the equation. I will say this tho, I can't wait to play my cube. It shows qu...

Re: My first GCp
Nice, glad you got it working. I did the same thing that you did. Mine worked the first time but I had to rewire it probably around 3 times before it ran problem free. How come you soldered to those little spots (resistor arrays?) instead of the original dvd connector? I still suggest using hot glue...

"if you want something done right - you gotta do it yourself" best dad-saying ever! I couldn't agree more with this. So many people out there who think just if they wish hard enough and post that they want it to happen enough that it'll just happen. You can either make it yourself or pay ...

Here's romhacks I did / was involved with programming. All of these romhacks run 100% on the real original hardware: Marioland 1 / Metroid 2 both converted into full colour gameboy color games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wWVHRJT5kQ Street Fighter 2 champion edition CPS1 arcade romhack, "S...

I really don't know where to post this. GB / GBC / GBA Flash / dev hardware: http://i.imgur.com/lFlada2.jpg The devcart being useful since it uses 100% authentic hardware so I know the romhacks run properly on the real thing. Re: My first GCp
So I wired that wkf and nothing. No lights on it nothing. Gave it 3.3 and grounded it and nothing. I really need to get a multimeter so I can test this stuff before I give it power. So anyway, I am stuck here until I can but a new wkf I guess. Maybe for the next wkf you can try hacking up the ribbo...

Indeed. Dead WKF SD slots, I have a few. You can however find some nice SD slots on e-bay for pretty cheap. I don't really have an "official" engineering background. But I've always been involved in various types and levels of technical stuff since I was really young. I do have a year and...

Even if it works out I'd use hot glue with some light heatgun action to make it nice and smooth. Just in case you think it's good and there's a bad connection somewhere.

I'm curious how both of you (ashen/megalomaniac) got started with this stuff? Do you two have engineering / hardware background? I'm glad you're getting your kids involved. I also don't see how you could possibly top the design of this portable haha. Looking at the innards, where did you get the sd ...

Re: Looking for some unmasked pcb pictures
Component cable makes no difference with the gb player That's not true. Please click on that picture to view the image full-sized. If you look at it at 100%, you'll see the 480p picture is sharper. What my page tries to explain is that it's not just the sharpness of 480p that makes it better: There...

Re: Looking for some unmasked pcb pictures
You see no difference??? Top two component shots look blurry compared to rgb from the gba tv adapter. is the GBA tv adapter a hardware addon for GC? ...no while the tv adapter may seem sharper, it could only be used as a possible reference between the accuracy of the GB Player vs original GBA. Sinc...

Re: Looking for some unmasked pcb pictures
you really need a component cable to bring out the best video quality GC and Gameboy Player have to offer Component cable makes no difference with the gb player: http://retrorgb.com/images/GBA%20Compare%20-%20Small.jpg http://retrorgb.com/gbacompare.html The gb player is blurry by default, my guess...
