Re: CleanRip v2.0.0

This thread is a bit old, but I would like to suggest adding FAT16 support (if possible) as that would be something I'd really want. Currently only have one SD card now and it's my boot card I use with Action Replay which of coarse means it must remain FAT16 so that the special cheat codes work with...

Re: Media Player CE

Yeah when I mentioned DVD support, I was saying more to the ability to load media files from the DVD drive. Not sure if the GC has enough power to decode DVDs that are in the DVD movie spec. So that's not something I would expect from the GC. Plus you can't fit a whole lot in DVD movie format on a 1...

Re: GameCube 2 Concept

A gaming capable PC showed up at CES that is rather small: Gigabyte Brix Pro (the official measurements have this at 4.5 x 4.3 x 2.4 inches and that's the outer case. The internals probably take up slightly less space then that. By comparison, the measurements for the GameCube is 5.9 × 6.3 × 4.3 inc...

Re: GameCube 2 Concept

I think currently the smallest "PC" motherboards are mini-ITX/mobile-ITX. You might be able to fit a PC in that. You'd have to custom fabricate a lot of things like the mounts for USB ports and such. I think mini-ITX still requires a standard ATX PSU unit (or a small version of it). You wo...

Re: SD Loader Action Replay

The SD patcher will not work in Win7. Windows 7 (though one guy said it work on Vista?) seems to prevent low level access to the drive. (My UAC was turned off, so it was not an administrative privileges issue) I had to use a virtual PC running Windows XP to get that to work. That would be your best ...

Re: Wii64 discussion?

If ya'll can get Mario 64 (the multiplayer hacked version :D) to run without lag. That would be great. (talking about the GameCube version) :D There's a multiplayer hack for SM64 that lets a second player play as Luigi (this shares the same camera, so it's not network play or anything special like t...

It boots on my GameCube. Burned it to a mini-dvd. Shows up with correct icon and banner in menu as well. Don't have the newer DOL-101 cubes though. Perhaps it's those it has trouble booting on.

Re: Goals for Swiss 0.4

I don't know if this has been brought up or not, but I find it really annoying that I can't back out of the settings screen/cheats screen with a game loaded. Swiss will boot the game if I leave the cheats screen (unless an exception comes up) or if I leave the settings screen. So it's impossible for...

Re: Starting Swiss (or other DOL) using Action Replay codes?

Booting from slot B would be impossible. Action Replay is hard coded to load it's special save file from slot B and thus a SD adapter can't be used on that slot. Perhaps you could double boot Action Replay by using AR codes to trick AR into using slot A instead and then boot AR again to then load th...

Sounds like the Wii-U side of the system blocks input form the Gamepad, thus the message emu_kidid mentioned. So a no go for vWii mode. We can hope Nintendo enables it fully in a another update, till then it can only act as a display. :(

Re: Swiss0.3 ISO and XenoGC 1.0 boot issue

Ahh I see. My burned discs do seem to be readable in my drive with Dolphin. So at least for me they both work. Official discs of coarse aren't readable on my PC since I don't have one of those rare drives that can be modified to read them. :P

Would like to post my results with two brands of mini-DVDs on my XenoGC GameCube. It's POT was adjusted to 60 OHM from the guy I bought the drive from. Don't have a multimeter, so I'm not gonna open her up and adjust it. :P First are the DealeXtreme cheapo ones on the dx website. Those seem to work ...

Re: Swiss0.3 ISO and XenoGC 1.0 boot issue

Does the "el-torito" show up in the GameCube BIOS with a banner icon and description? I suppose that catalog file might contain that information. I wanted my personal copy to look "official" on the GameCube menu. I'm just OCD like that and was one reason why I had just went and h...

Re: Swiss0.3 ISO and XenoGC 1.0 boot issue

I do recall checking his ISO files. His ISO's like yours use a lone dol file with a catalog file which is likely something built in Linux/Homebrew ISO builder of some kind, which for the OP of this thread had initial issues with. I had modified a retail ISO to load Swiss because at the time I did no...

Re: Swiss0.3 ISO and XenoGC 1.0 boot issue

I built an NTSC ISO that retains the normal retail game filesystem. (as in uses Apploader with working opening.bnr file among others) It boots on my XenoGC modchipped GameCube: SwissGCMISO.rar I've burnt this to my own DVD and shows up in GameCube BIOS with correct banner and description. It boots a...

Re: swiss and wii - burning iso

I have no idea if DIOS-MIOS supports loading those "El Torito Specification" format homebrew ISOs. The ones I've seen have a "catalog" file and the lone DOL file. At least the Swiss ISO is set up like this. It's not structured at all like a retail GCM iso, so I don't know if a so...

I found that I can use photoshop to out put to 16 bit BMP and GCRebuilder will finally accept that as the BMP import. You MUST add the alpha layer! (also make sure that "Alpha Channel" is checked on the save file dialog box) If you don't Photoshop won't save it in the right format. (has to...

Re: games freeze with swiss

Some of that (audio freezing while loading) is due to slow SD cards. You can fix some of it by using a faster SD card. However the memory card slot is on a slower connection then the DVD drive, so any backup you run may run into this issue even if you got a really fast SD card. Now much Swiss can do...

Any plans to add disc drive support? It would be cool to be able to play media files that are burned to a mini DVD. As far as I can tell the screws for the heat-sink is what holds the motherboard to the bottom shell. So yes it's usually pretty secure. I have not tried using thermal paste. Just check the spacing between the circuit board and the heat-sink. But I'm pretty sure you should be able to use thermal past...

Older versions are rarer. My version is v1.14 and I bought mine back in '07 or earlier. If you buy an SD Adapter for the memory card slot, you then have what you need to run homebrew/backups. SD adapters like the WiiKey can be bought for cheap if you look in the right places. ;) Just google Action R...

Re: Hiya!

What process did you go through to remove the heatsink? I removed a heat-sink from a spare GC mobo prior to shipping it out to a buyer and it popped off without any issues. I basically took a large flat head screw driver and lightly twisted it under one side of the heat-sink (the sides closest to th...
