Re: GameBoy Player start up disc from SD card

I burned it onto a disc now I have some, and it works fine so the only difference is Swiss. Is there some particular technical reason it can't booted from Swiss?

Re: Game Boy Interface

I bought a Gameboy Player with no disc and have tested out this great piece of software. Since I don't have the official startup disc I can't tell just how much better this is, but it's certainly not blurry. I can see the colour palette adjustments when using the exit function to compare between reg...

Re: GameBoy Player start up disc from SD card

People validating that the NTSC-U GBP startup disc boots to the missing Gameboy Player message isn't a true test. I observed that error message too, before recently buying what I assume to be a PAL Gameboy Player unit. However the NTSC-U gcm rip of the startup disc just freezes on a green screen aft...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build

Hi, now that I've done a bit more testing I've realised that Animal Crossing does work, it's just that it takes quite a long time to load with a black screen. That seems odd, because it was much quicker with sd-boot. Does swiss only default to the root folder on the SD card, or is there a magic fold...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build

There are open source exFAT implementations, it's not a reverse engineering issue. It's patent encumbered, which is a different problem. However, emu_kidid isn't trying to make any money from swiss so in this case I wouldn't expect it to be an obstacle. Also, in many jurisdictions outside the USA, s...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build

Just tried a small GCM file with audio streaming - Crazy Taxi - and it worked, but the SD card isn't fast enough to load in the textures during the attract sequence. The 2GB SD card I use for the Gamecube is quite old. I have newer ones but they're all formatted ExFat and they contain a lot of conte...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build

It's not something I've tried yet, as most of my games are original PAL titles. I had later ahem 'acquired' the US NTSC versions later purely to get prog scan (all disc based), but it seems that now I don't need those thanks to Swiss. I guess the SD streaming is good news for when the laser unit fin...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build

I recently dug out my GC after several years of not using it and was keen to try out Swiss. It's amazing how quickly it initialises compared to SD-Boot. But I literally cannot believe what it is capable of. Seeing Wind Waker run in 576p with Widescreen set to Yes (no distortion of UI bitmaps) is jus...

Crashed out on load for me on a Gamecube, launched from SD from Swiss r366.

Re: NeoCD Redux unofficial

Fired up my GC for the first time in years and had a look round here for updates. Thanks for updating this emulator Megalomanic. Really great now I don't have to swap the SD to Slot A. :)

Re: Qoob Chip

I hadn't seen there was a proper marketplace - been away from these parts for a long time :) I have another Qoob question - since I've had mine, the reset button on my console hasn't worked at all. And the IGR feature never works. Looking on Google it seems both ought to bring me to the original IPL...

Re: Qoob Chip

Cheers, that wasn't a photo of mine - just one I found online. I have mine jammed hard over to the left (my blue wires are a little longer than that example. I finally bothered to sort out my DVD drive POT today too. All discs read fine now. Before it was about 20% chance of booting burned media. To...

Re: Qoob Chip

Just got my qoob pro from emukidid installed today. Cheers man. Just when I was wondering whether it had got lost it turned up. I already have a Qoob SX so I assumed it was pin-compatible with the wiring I had already done, which it is. Yay, no soldering. I was confused for a while because it arrive...

Re: Feature request for future versions of emulators

I bought my first LCD TV last year and, because I sometimes use the PSX mode on a PS2 and I have a Sega Saturn, I wanted one that would display 240p. The fact is that most LCD screens won't even recognize this as a valid input signal. I got a Sony Bravia in the end, and Samsungs work. Most of the ot...

Re: One Question

In my experience I think RC3 was better than RC4 for DOL compatibility. RC4 won't load Wii64 for instance.

Re: softdev's d0lLZ (DOL-File Compressor)

I remember there was a version of sd-boot that emu_kidid released at one point that wouldn't work if you sent it to the BBA via netcat (which I was doing to avoid wasting so many blank discs). Compressing with dolLZ reallocates the execution address in RAM and it fixed it, though you had to specific...

Re: Modchips for cheap in Europe

I found the site. Quite odd - it's in German but it's run from Barcelona. Is it legit? I spent ages last time I needed a modchip to find a site that allowed PayPal or MoneyBookers. By the time I've handed over 10EUR for shipping and the fee for paying in Euros from a UK bank account it's doubled the...

Re: Welcome to www.gc-forever.com

Glad to find this place. After Tehskeen went belly up I had a suspicion that Emu_kidid might be the one to set something up. Great work! Looking forward to the new SD-boot.

Hi there - I'm interested in a Qoob Pro if you haven't ordered already! I'm in the UK btw.
