Re: Hi, about Serial port 2 USB for Swiss, any chance?

Extrems/EmuKidid: Has someone already succeeded or trying to code a DoLauncher for SP2, or do we still need to first boot SWISS/GBI/EmGBA off the Slot B first? I was planning to buy a second WiiSD for my second GC, maybe I would be better get that SP2 adapter and help testing what you code? Link fr...

Re: Hi, about Serial port 2 USB for Swiss, any chance?

I meant that it was more feasible in that SD doesn't require logic to sit in between it and the GameCube since the EXI bus is very similar to the SPI bus that SD cards can be used across.

Can an SD Media Launcher make use of that Serial Port 2 to load something from it? I would guess no.
You've guessed correctly.

Re: Hi, about Serial port 2 USB for Swiss, any chance?

It's a small PCB that plugs into Serial Port 2 with a micro SD card slot. There's no support for it currently in anything though yet.

Re: Hi, about Serial port 2 USB for Swiss, any chance?

Serial port 2 SD is going to be way more feasible than USB, that reminds me, I never received my sd sp2 adaptor from citrus (which will need work to support)

Recent spam influx

Hi all,

I've noticed a huge influx in spam lately (from 1 per year to 20 in the last week)! As a result, I've rejigged the questions on the signup page, but if this fails to curb the spam I'll enable admin approved only signups.

You're better off asking on reddit or other places that deal with emulation on such devices, there are dedicated subreddits for this stuff.

Glad I could help, just make sure you do everything before unplugging it as it might be another few minutes until you get it working ever again :P

Re: Getting the Qoob Pro recognized under Windows 10?

It's not necessarily the version of windows at fault here but rather how the Qoob PRO USB enumerates itself. One hack is to unplug it and reinsert it a bunch of times in a short amount of time until you see the light on the smaller PCB light up, when you see that one come on you'll know it's going t...

Re: Multi disc numbering issue.

Alright, try r650: https://github.com/emukidid/swiss-gc/releases/tag/v0.4r650 Thank you very much. Was there any particular reason for the option to disable the new reading mode not being specific per game? No I don't think there was a reason, I'll move it over and have it under default too. I have...

Re: MSX/MSX2 emulator for GameCube?

Yes that's the "RGUI" frontend that the GameCube & Wii ports of RetroArch receive, there's no option to download new cores on the GameCube, you'll have to manually do it. From a retroarch perspective, the GameCube & Wii are considered very limited platforms.

Re: Multi disc numbering issue.

I also support nintendont style naming so you could try that. Disc 1 will need to be "game.iso" and then disc 2 needs to be "disc2.iso", example:
Killer 7\game.iso
Killer 7\disc2.iso

Re: How do I compile DOL files?

I'm confused as to why you don't just go here: https://github.com/emukidid/swiss-gc/releases

If you need to compile it, you will need devkitPro with devkitPPC and libOGC installed. From there you'll need to call make.

Try the following and see if it works:

- In the settings area of Swiss, enable "Alternative Read Patches"
- With or without the above option, press B instead of selecting an individual DOL file.

I'm looking in to getting a nintendo gamecube modchip! Any first chip recommendations? If you really want to do a hardmod, I'd have to say XenoGC, or any clone of it. Simply because it's the easiest to find these days and readily available. If you want the "best" in terms of how quick it is to boot...

Re: gamecube plays game disc then msg "an error has occurred"

128 MB aka 1019 block memory cards are known to be problematic with some games (official or not): https://www.nintendo.com/consumer/memorycard1019.jsp

Try a smaller memory card and see how you go.
