Re: Viper GC

I wanted to say thank you to emu_kidid for the advice. It made sense and worked perfectly. Now I can add a Viper to my collection of Cubes. Glad to have helped, you can also add a windows XP PC to your collection as well :P Does the file just get written to the flash or is it written to the FPGA? T...

Re: Trouble read DVD-R disc on hardmod

I installed Xeon mod chip in my Gamecube and I am having some trouble. I have adjusted the laser and it will only read one of my three different type of disc. The game crashes shortly after running loading it. I tried this mod chip on 4 different unit and only one will read the backups. I have Verb...

Re: 3D printed Full size DVD Cover for Gamecube

I had this printed, fits fairly well but needs more clearance around the drive lens unit, and some supports for the screw towers. Plan does not include the cutouts or mounting points for the rear handle, or any provisions for the lid/cover/eject mechanics or eject button. No spot for fan filter or ...

Re: Can all GameCubes be saved?..

The main man! Thanks for the reply Emu_Kidid. Ideally someone who knows the test points on the dvd drive board could hook up something like an oscilloscope to it and get it 100% calibrated. Interesting, is this something you have experience with? If you could point me to the test point's I'd love t...

Re: Sundisk ODE a possibility?

Its basically a slimmed down Sundriver. Usb to load iso's onto the 16gb onboard memory. It uses the same SunIso menu as the Sundriver. I was messing a bit more last night and got it to actually start reading but then she would hang up there. See now you got me all hopeful and stuff. If you can make...

Re: Can all GameCubes be saved?..

Hi Guys, I’m just getting into the GC scene (and the console repair/mod scene in general) and I’m already hooked. I’m having some trouble with some spares/repairs GCs I bought online: I have a couple that refuse to read disks.. I’m using know good cables, disks, main motherboards and even lasers. B...

Re: Sundisk ODE a possibility?

Doesn't that variant require a PC to be running software in order to "stream" the game over USB or something? That might explain the "please insert disc" message.

I'd managed to get a SunDriver SATA working on a GC.

Re: Viper GC

emu_kidd, do you have any ideas on my situation/problem I described above? Basically I have a Viper GC Extreme that I can't program (and I've tried everything) and the GameCube doesn't boot to any Cobra BIOS so either the chip is blank and the programmer is broken, or maybe the chip is dead but I c...

Re: Viper GC

So I recently obtained a Viper GC chip (non extreme)and installed in my Cube. Installation is a breeze. Figuring everything else out has led me here. I finally managed to get my PC to work with the usb adapter after a frustrating evening. When I open the Viper USB app (with switch 2 on and Cube on)...

Re: Hello everyone, I love video games like most of you all here.

I have a XenoGC and am wondering if there is a way to get swiss to launch from a disc so that I do not need two SD cards and can launch back ups from my sdhc card? I tried googling if Swiss could be launched via disc but received confusing results. Thanks for reading this and sorry to disturb you a...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build

From booting SWISS on my SDcard (latest revision as of this posting r599) I see some graphical artifacting on folder names/etc when I browse a folder that contains .ISO's or .GCM files while the loading bar goes by. This is more of a UI graphical bug I wanted to report and does not appear to impede...

I can reflash it if you're willing to send the vipergc to me.
Were are you located?
Australia. Or I can send you a spare parallel programmer but it needs a flex cable (and you can keep it)

Re: Why are cheats way more unstable on GameCube hardware?

It happens because of inaccuracies in dolphin that can permit say invalid memory accesses to continue whereas on real hardware it will crash. Dolphin can also apply cheats without requiring the game to change its execution whereas real hardware will need an in memory hook to call upon a custom code ...

Re: Auto boot Swiss & load Backups

WODE is also a bit slow and clunky to use since it was originally intended to simulate the disc drive as accurately as possible, including the slow "eject" and disc init parts of the process. It also takes at least 20-30 seconds to read the contents of a moderately filled SD card (30-40 games). I'd ...
