I did not. I was unaware that it needed to be in there for the test to run properly.
If you don't have a card in there, the wasp will try to enable passthrough mode, which won't work since you don't have a real drive on the other side.

Re: DVD Drive Emulator Question

More than plenty fast enough, it's the fastest available bus, but that also makes it more difficult to work with. Requires much more expensive hardware for one.

Re: Game Boy Interface

But that's not practical in its current state (no GUI for configuration) and no one outside of the GBI crowd actually wants to run any homebrew from a disc, because there's no good reason to do that. SD adapters are cheap and easy to use, and as long as you can boot into Swiss, you can have any set-...

Re: WASP Custom from BAC seemingly non-working

I'm well aware of how it's designed, but it's happened before. It's also possible that you didn't push it in all the way, leaving the connector inserted at an angle which can cause a wrong connection. At any rate, I know mega tends to be anal with testing and packages things well, in antistatic bags...

Re: WASP Custom from BAC seemingly non-working

The devices were thoroughly tested before shipping. If it's not working then we can only assume that you've done something wrong like plugging it in incorrectly, which could have damaged the FPGA by feeding 5V into fragile IO pins. You can confirm this by running the attached dol. Swap the wasp in B...

Re: Game Boy Interface

I finally broke down and used my Wii to install the file onto my GC Memory Card, but I'm not pleased about it. It may be a minor quibble to you, but when I power on my GC to play a GB, GBC, or GBA game, it actually ANNOYS me to search through a Swiss menu to load up GBI. If you actually took the ti...

There's also the problem of codes relying on specific dcache behavior which can't work in Dolphin.

Dolphin can also apply cheats without requiring the game to change its execution whereas real hardware will need an in memory hook to call upon a custom code handler at basically every frame
Dolphin actually installs a code handler as far as I know.

There's currently no way to reflash it without a programmer if you're not already running Cobra.

Use an SD gecko to load backups, it's cheap and you can reuse the card later with any ode you buy.

Re: Question: dead laser = disc motor wont start?

Yes that's correct, if it doesn't think there's a disc, it won't even try to start the spindle motor. That short back and forth motion happens before spin-up. Doesn't exclude the possibility of a dead spindle though.

Re: Auto boot Swiss & load Backups

There's no best way. You'll have to look for someone who has one and is willing to sell it. They're fairly rare nowadays. Difficulty of installation depends on the adapter that you get for it, but it'll most likely require soldering. I think big SD cards will work on wode, which also supports USB dr...

Your options are: - xenogc with a Swiss DVD, also allows booting DVD backups directly - qoob or viper with iplboot + Swiss on SD, Swiss as a "plugin", or a Swiss DVD; Swiss, Cobra and the Qoob BIOS allow booting DVD backups directly - wiikey/wasp fusion or wode (best compatibility for backups on an ...

Swiss itself can't play Nintendo 64 games. You need an emulator such as Cube64/Wii64 or Not64, or the one from the Master Quest/Collector's Edition discs which you can inject ROMs into.

Unless I'm mistaken, the issue with burning GBI by itself to a disc is that the console can't pass parameters to it.
That's easily worked around with appended arguments, the more annoying issue is having to burn and waste discs each time you want to change something or update GBI.

Re: New to HOMEBREW, SWISS, & GBI. Need help!

1) If you have Swiss on your memory card then that's enough, you can load anything from SD with it. 2) You can update the memory card on the GC itself with either Swiss or GCMM, but be careful not to lock yourself out with no Swiss file on your memory card. Alternatively, you can just put new Swiss ...

You can try badass consoles but from what I have gathered it is pretty bad. The admin doesn't reply, take orders or give refunds where requested.
