Re: what Cable stickning out?

This is either for flashing a Qoob or a WKF/WASP SD cable. Do you know what mod the console has ? You can probably tell by turning it on.

Re: Swiss Question

In most cases, bugs and choppiness are both related to the high CPU requirement to read from SD cards. DMA will be unavailable without extra hardware which would be way too costly compared to a drive emulator which can achieve much higher throughput and solves the problem of actually booting homebre...

Re: EON vs gc video adapter?

All variants of gcvideo (the EON included) use the same chip, because they're all based on the same open source firmware targeting that chip.
GCVideo X is also using that same chip, and is also plug and play, but it's the only one on record that is using properly manufactured connectors.

Re: EON vs gc video adapter?

Zeldaxpro's current design is this one , for which he refuses to give collingall and citrus3000psi any credit even though they've put it up online for free (the older revisions were based on happy_bunny's shuriken PCB to which he added his terrible connector). It is definitely better, but it won't b...

Re: Game Boy Interface

A CLI file is just a regular text file, you put one argument on each line. Then pad that file to be 1024 bytes long and append it to the DOL, still using your hex editor.

Re: EON vs gc video adapter?

The analog port plug is a strain relief because the HDMI cable comes out from the side.

Re: Game Boy Interface

I think the easiest way to do it on windows would be to open the file in a hex editor and add 1024 bytes at the end of it with the value 0. Or on any unixy OS: truncate -s +1024 <file> What hex editor would you suggest I use? Where you have <file>, do I input the exact file location? Sorry, I just ...

Re: EON vs gc video adapter?

The eon is an overpriced and mediocre looking gcvideo. It should have HDMI audio unless they're idiots and removed it from the firmware.

Re: Game Boy Interface

I installed a xenogc and can't for the life of me figure out how to get this on disc. I get that its not recommended by the guy in charge, but how hard can this really be? I tried the homebrew_disc pack by infact, and wound up with a PAL disc which appears to have at least booted swiss in 50hz lol....

Re: The Definitive DI / DVD Interface Thread

No. CPU speed has little to do with this, most of the SoC is still pretty much the same, especially the IO hardware which is what we're interested in. Don't expect it to ever be viable. FPGAs are cheap anyway.

Re: Difficulties with qoob pro.

Great. Grab the 1.3c archive from here , and the latest build of iplboot from here , then connect the Qoob to your PC (don't power on the console), and use the flashing tool to install iplboot as the BIOS onto it. Then get the latest build of Swiss, and put the DOL as ipl.dol on your SD card (get yo...

If you have the programming board, flash iplboot to your qoob and use swiss to boot your games.

Re: SD Loader on modded GC

Yeah, exfat support is part of fatfs (the FAT library that I'm using), but I won't release a build with it enabled until Swiss supports it, unless I have something else to release. There's no need for >4GB files on the GC.

Re: SD Loader on modded GC

None that I'm aware of unfortunately, but you most likely won't need to update iplboot. I'm not actively working on it, nor do I have a reason to make changes, and if I release an update it should be minor enough. There might be a way to load the viper IPL without flashing it to the chip and flash f...

If it's not too late, emu_kidid sells a programming board here, but you'll still need to find a flex cable, those are pretty common though.

Re: Qoob Pro still worth it for SWISS?

The stock Qoob BIOS even more useless than a xeno if you don't have the programming cable. If you're feeling up for it, you can try soldering a USB cable directly to it, there are test pads on the back of the PCB that are probably USB.

Re: Qoob Pro still worth it for SWISS?

Unfortunately, no. For some reason, the updater screws up when you change the payload, so you can't make an update ISO.

You might be able to rip Wii games on the Wii U with it, GC games are unlikely to work though. CleanRip is trivial to use, just run it and follow the instructions.

Some consoles are picky even with official discs, more often with Datel discs, but usually you don't need to touch anything.
