ok cool thank you for the response! im assuming i should do the same type of set up where the braided shield gets twisted into a "wire" and then soldered onto the ground, correct?

I've bought a set on ebay that were not working / broken.. One of the cables had a pinch in the line which broke it.. I just replaced the lead and worked perfect If you are able to troubleshoot / solder, open it up and check it out.. If you are cautious about doing something like that then you can ...
