Re: Is this really a black screen of death? [Revived from black screen of death]
They came from another NTSC-J console and from a PAL console one but I don't remember the exact revisions. The friend who gave me the motherboards said that those 2 died due to voltage problems. The last one I used I don't know why it was dead but a lot of signals were grounded (not by hand). Fortun...

Re: Is this really a black screen of death? [Revived from black screen of death]
From my understanding it has the same pinout between revisions, so you can swap between different ones.
The broken motherboard with the working ARAM was a DOL-CPU-05 and the repaired one a DOL-CPU-02 both NTSC-J

Re: Is this really a black screen of death?
Unfortunately when you get junk motherboards for free you don't know which part are usable for Shure  Of course, this is the last ARAM I've used (the working one): http://imgur.com/gallery/BsEmySz I don't think that a picture of the broken ones can be helpful but if needed I'll edit my post...

Re: Is this really a black screen of death?
I'm reviving this old post just to say that I came across to another broken Japanese gcn (it doesn't poweron at all even with a working powerboats). I've desoldered the ARAM of this one and installed in the first one that didn't red games and now it's working again (don't know for how many days/moth...

Re: Is this really a black screen of death?
Little update after a lot of time, I've found 2 broken motherboard from a friend and tried to use both ARAM on this GCN but same behaviour as before. Maybe is not the ARAM?

Re: Is this really a black screen of death?
It's certainly not a loss of video unfortunately since I used the same setup as my main gamecube (that is a jap model too). I send the audio directly to my hi-fi, so if it was a not supported video signal the audio should work anyway. When I get a black screen I don't lose the sync it's just a solid...

Is this really a black screen of death? [Revived from black screen of death]
Hello, Recently I went to Japan, and I've found a pretty cheap untested Gamecube (console + 2 original controllers for 980 yen). Today I powered up the console and it showed a strange behaviour: -it boots fine and it works with composite, rgb, but with component I had some weird colour when in swiss...

ok, I will check thank you, I'm sure that audio streaming muting was "off".
By the way in theory it may may work as I understood, is not an hw limitation! thank you!

Does mega drive v4 need the megawire mod?
Hello, I'm a proud owner of a megadrive v4 made by the great megalomaniac. Now I'd like to play at some titles that have audio streaming. I know that I can't play them through the SD card, but if I boot one of them from the DVD the audio streaming is still not played.. Do I need to solder the wire i...

Re: Dreamcast
The psio team said that Dreamcast is the next on their roadmap. But I think they will took a lot of time before releasing something to sell.. This is what one of the developer said: "The PlayStation 1, Dreamcast, SEGA Saturn, 3DO, PC-FX, Atari Jaguar CD, CDi, Sega-CD and Amiga CD32 are on our m...

Re: Wasp and rgb problem
Thank you for your answer, unfortunately I've just tried this solution several times with different joysticks, trying to hold the L trigger at different moments (ex before power on, immediately after power on, after the gamecube logo) and wait with the trigger pressed for about a minute, but every t...

Re: Wasp and rgb problem
Thank you for your answer! I hope that someone could explain me how to fix this. Does an unmodded component cable used with the regular composit cable can solve this issue? Edit : I've found that if I power on the gc without the digital output o can see the Swiss menu and if I plug the digital out w...
