Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
Thank you. The capacitors helped only very little. It seems that my wires were too long. When I tried 2cm long wires, it worked perfectly. Unfortunately, it's not possible to install the heat sink if the wires are that short because the GC Video is in the way. I had to increase wire length to about ...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
I flashed my second GCVideo with the N64 SVF. The quality of component video is much better than composite (as expected) but there are weird vertical lines that "show up in groups": http://i.imgur.com/vTxgnekl.jpg The picture is stable, i.e. no flickering, and the lines are always there, i...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
It would work only for shifts of a few pixels, not for such an extreme offset as shown in your picture. You can set a horizontal displacement from the cube's menu, but iirc it only allows about 16 pixels and isn't supported very well by homebrew. Thanks to both of you. For some reason it suddenly s...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
Thank you. The screen uses auto-config already. I can move the picture to the right in the OSD of the screen but the settings are lost when I turn it off. Do you think it's possible to modify the firmware of the GC Video to send a modified picture that is shifted to the right? Would that be difficul...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
Thank you. It almost works now. The firmware wasn't flashed correctly and two of the pins on the FPGA were shorted. Now, the picture is shifted to the left: http://i.imgur.com/PuseuKpl.jpg VSYNC fluctuates wildly and is anywhere from 60Hz to 1kHz according to my multimeter. HSYNC is about 32kHz. The...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
I purchased the parts for a GC video lite 0.9 over a year ago but never had the the time to install it until today. Unfortunately, it doesn't work and I'm unsure how to trouble shoot it. Here is what I did: I flashed th GC Video lite with a FlashcatUSB (used the precompiled firmware from github). Th...

Re: Question about Charge and Play Circuit
Yah I got a little confused with the silkscreen they had on there with calling out both voltages. That forum post makes sense now. I really like the batteryspace module you sent. Is that what most people use? Also what kind of wire diagram would you do with this? I was also thinking of this one too...

Re: Question about Charge and Play Circuit
The adafruit charger only works with one cell. You need to replace the chip that handles the charging to make it work with two cells: http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=34399 Maybe this is the better option: http://www.batteryspace.com/Internal-Smart-Charge-Module-1.2A-for-7.4V-Li-i...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
Is it possible to use a LCMXO2-640HC-4TG100I instead of a LCMXO2-640HC-4TG100C? The I version has a lower operating frequency. Unfortunately, RS-Online doesn't carry the C version. Mouser and Digikey have it but the shipping costs are ridiculous in my country.

Re: Has anyone modded the LED on a wavebird controller?
Theoretically, this is not very hard to do but if you don't have some experience with soldering tiny components you might break the LED (or in the worst, although unlikely, case the whole controller). Here are board scans of the controller: http://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=42580.0 Judgi...

Re: how do you edit a case/plastic ?
Hi I'm using homemade ABS cement to connect pieces of (ABS) plastic. It's very easy to make, you just need acetone, ABS plastic and a glass jar. Here's a tutorial on how to make it: http://kyorune.com/modding/article.php?id=43 When I need to cut something, I use a fretsaw. It's quite difficult to ma...
