You can try your luck with setting AVE Compatibility to AVE N-DOL. This will output NTSC 50 instead of quasi-PAL-N.

It is working, just not as you're expecting. This is a current limitation with PAL games.

Either use the exit to menu option (last on bottom right), or enable boot through IPL, boot a game, and hold the A button.

If you have a problem with what Swiss is doing, don't use Swiss. It is also naive to think the default settings change nothing.

Usually it would be the SD card, but I got a whole bunch of different SD card brands and got nothing.

576p is rarely optimal. See the internal resolution of most games on the compatibility list.
