Re: Wired wavebird?
I just like the shape and the grey color of the wavebird but dislike that it's wired. The good thing is, the Wavebird is not wired. Why not spraypainting a regular wired controller in grey color? The shape of the Wavebird is identical with a regular controller, except the tranciever stage in the mi...

Wow man, this is about 600h of gamecube playing time when you guess 15hr/game. Here are mine:  007 Nightfire (its so funny how sexist this game actually was.) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (finished almost, last part was really weird)  Baten Kaitos (AMAZING gam...

Re: Is anything new in development?
Huh? You need: - Gamecube that runs backup discs (eg. with XenoGC Chip) - A SD Gecko (Either you buy one for cheap or make one yourself. When you can install a modchip, you can propably make a SD Gecko) - A SD Card (Works up to 128gb as far as I know) - a DVD-R (mini or full size) => Burn latest Swi...

Re: MegaDrive V3 and WASP Fusion , do i update the firmware like this ?
Nah, WASP comes already with Swiss on it. ( EDIT: Only if you ordered from badassconsoles! ) You just have to update Swiss to the latest version from here. Just take the .fzn file and put it on a SD Gecko. Then boot Swiss from wherever and execute the .fzn file, this will update the swiss version in...

Re: Autoboot every time with every SD card (Confirmed!)
The autoboot trick works with my cube. DOL 001 PAL WASP as a drive replacement I was wondering how multidisc swapping would work with a grounded pin23 connection. I'm guessing I'd have to install the NC switch so that for an open lid pin23 on the motherboard gets disconnected from GND and pin23 on t...

Ah ok, I actually thought that viper extreme safe states thing would work. Never really thought about the physics behind this
That devaluates a factory sealed Viper Extreme a bit of course

General possibility of emulating 5th gen consoles (N64/PSX)
Hi, I have been mocking around with N64 emulators (cube64 and not64) and a PSX emulator (cubeSX) on my gamecubes lately. Method is booting Swiss from DVD and the execute the emulator from SDGecko. Since the results were never anywhere near bugfree emulation I wondered if 5th gen emulation on the cub...
Re: Viper GC
Unfortunately I never tried it. I bricked my Viper Extreme before I could use it. I always thought the safe state thing was the major difference between the Viper GC and the Viper Extreme. They announced this feauture with cobra version 2.0 which was supposed to only run on the Extreme. And again, 2...
Re: Viper GC
I've found it somewhat unreliable for creating backups and it seems a little worse than a XenoGC for reading them I recently ripped around 25 originals with the Viper and was able to verify each dump with redump.org. Every rip worked first try, even with some nasty discs which sometimes gave me DRE...
Re: Viper GC
i just bought a viper gc extreme new in the box with everything YOU LUCKY GUY!!! how much are these things worth these days and how much were they when they were new and still in production I got my viper extreme somewhat between 2006 and 08. Re: Xeno Modchip Installation Problems
I turned it on the light went from red to yellow (v2.0) This shows that the micro is actually doing something. (which is good) Please show some pictures of your Xeno install. Did you use the direct solder technique or did you use wires? Direct soldering is a bit of a problem because you can short o...

Is that an original Gameboy player start up disc cover? Over here they were sold in smaller plastic boxes like the retail Japanese games Bought it short after the EUR release. The cover has the holding for a GBA cartridge. Is this unusual? http://p1.pichost.me/i/78/2030645.jpg http://p1.pichost.me/...

Re: How to get my videos to fit entire screen on YouTube?
Youtube uses 16:9 aspect ratio, make sure your game outputs 16:9 otherwise there is nothing you can do about black bars.
(without manipulating the footage, like streching or cropping to 16:9)
Are the black bars already in your recorded footage or does yt add them?

Re: Best titles I should purchase?
Must have GC Games (despite you might already have some): - Resident Evil 0, 1 & 4 (what more to say?) - Paper Mario (second best RPG ever) - Metroid Prime (masterpiece in just about everything) - Baten Kaitos (THE best RPG ever) - Killer7 (might not fit everyone but I'm in love with this) - Ete...

Re: Swiss Nightly Build
Beginner questions: I am booting Swiss via DVD. Viper chip running cobra 1.6. Cube: PAL 1.0 How can I stop the DVD motor once I am in the Swiss menu? (I already set the "stop motor on start up" setting) It just keeps spinning, no matter what. In the Wiki it says Swiss can dump games to SD ...

Re: Getting a N64 emu to work (DVD) | Viper
Ok, that makes sense ;) I stubmbled upon this tutorial today and I got a working hombrew disc with the latest swiss nightly build. That got me exciting and I made myself a gecko SD adapter out of an old mem card: http://p1.pichost.me/i/78/2029095.jpg http://p1.pichost.me/i/78/2029096.jpg Both cube64...

Re: Getting a N64 emu to work (DVD) | Viper
Thanks for your reply! Swiss together with an SD Gecko (I'd simply make one myself) seems to be a shmick solution. I really don't want to flash Swiss on my Viper chip though... I bricked one before. Don't touch a running system ;) I'll propably get another cube and equip it with a XenoGC 2.0 Chip. (...

Getting a N64 emu to work (DVD) | Viper
Hi everyone, my last hombrew actions lay back half a decade so I'm not quite up to date with latest state of N64 emulating on the cube  Please excuse my following stupid questions. I have an early gen European GC with a Viper chip running Cobra1.6 (no problems here). My SNES9X GX 0.0.4x emulat...
