Re: Game Boy Interface
480p is a necessary "evil" because of GCVideo DVI. Disable progressive scan if you don't want it. 360p is arguably better than 240p for the OSSC. Okay so how do I do that? I was able to calibrate a sharp profile for OSSC based on your 522P default package for High Fidelity, but the image ...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Okay so I'm going sound like a bother, and idiot, noob, etc., but each week a new package of software is released for the Game Boy Player, and each week it completely breaks the work I did on the OSSC because the defaults are changed and I have NO IDEA how to set the High Fidelity parameters. I shou...

Re: Game Boy Interface
I pulled down the zip with that file by the way. My apologies for jumping the gun on that as I just wanted people to have a nice solution for good picture quality on the Framemeister. I was getting complaints coming in and felt I needed to make sort of temporary solution. I'll keep a look out for ne...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Extrems, I noticed in the current package download, the Framemeister driver has bad color bleed compared to the beta one you sent me a couple weeks ago. Granted, it appears to be for speed runners, but there needs to be an "HF" driver for people that prefer quality pixels on the Framemeist...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Just wanted to post an update in that I downloaded the latest package and tried again on the regular "gbihf.dol" driver and was able to dial in perfect pixels on the OSSC this time around. New settings: gbihf.dol: Video LPF = 35 MHz (still the perfect setting for official component cables)...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Just so people know, I'm using an NTSC Gamecube with official component cables into the OSSC. Using the 'gbihf-gcvideox' driver, here are the optimal best picture settings I dialed in for line4x mode (as an example): Video LPF = 35 MHz (this may seem strange, but trust me that it all jives together ...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Yeah it's strange, but I sat here and tested each high fidelity version, and the 'gcvideox' version came the closest I have ever seen to pixel perfection on the OSSC. So I don't know what it is you're setting different in that version, but it seems to somehow fall into the 'sweet spot' for OSSC alig...

Re: Game Boy Interface
You're confused. The high-fidelity edition was made to rectify this. You're looking at the OSSC preset for the speedrunning edition. Well what I'm saying is: NONE of the other 'high-fidelity' drivers can be dialed in to look flawless like the 'gcvideox' version does on the OSSC. Additionally, since...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Extrems, Just wanted to touch base with you an issue I'm having with the OSSC GBI driver. There's chroma shift to the right in your latest version that cannot be corrected with any phase sampling setting. However, your 'gcvideox' driver (and only that particular driver) manages to perfectly align on...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Dumb question: How do I add an argument to the GBI file I want to load from the Action Replay menu screen? Edit: Eventually settled on using Swiss to boot GBI.LL with the 1:1 aspect argument. It works and I'm finally seeing perfect scrolling in GB games on the Framemeister! What I need to do now is ...

Re: Game Boy Interface
It's impossible to implement SGB features. Would you be willing to change the default argument to a perfect square pixel match of the original graphics? No, but I'll add an option to set the sample aspect ratio. Very glad to hear this. I ran into this too (post on page 15). Glad to find out I'm not...

Re: Game Boy Interface
And it's not a problem with the GBA architecture itself in some way? Seems odd GBA would be fine with the same parameters but not GB/GBC. It's possible the GBP hardware is to blame, but the fact of the matter is the pixels are not inter-scaled on the horizontal axis for regular GB and GBC. I wish t...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Negative. GBA appears integer-perfect on both axes. GB and GBC appear integer-perfect on the vertical axis, but not the horizontal. I've confirmed from my end the lack of horizontal integer pixels is very definitely coming from the input source and not the Framemeister.

Re: Game Boy Interface
Question for Extrems: I'm noticing graphic sizzle on the horizontal axis for regular Game Boy games. When I look closely, it would seem the horizontal resolution is not an integer of the original Game Boy resolution, and this results in random oblong pixels (which causes scrolling sizzle). Is this s...

Re: Game Boy Interface
The ULL version might be booting in 480p, as I asked Extrems about earlier. Try running a Gamecube game that supports progressive scan, then choose not to enable it. That would ensure the ULL version is booting in 240p (if that's what happens to be the problem). Already tried this and it doesn't wo...

Re: Game Boy Interface
Well, GameCube games at 480i and 480p running over HDMI are undoubtedly going to look better than running over official component cables to the Framemeister. (Framemeister has some disappointing results for GameCube and PS2 component inputs, to my eyes) However running GBi over component cables at ...
