Re: Pokemon colosseum on swiss

Pokemon games have a lot of anti-cheat measures similar to PSO Plus, so Swiss would need code specifically to deal with them. (PSO Plus is still not fully compatible with Swiss, either.)

Re: Trouble read DVD-R disc on hardmod

Well, how badly do you want to read DVD-Rs? Burned discs are at least 20% less reflective than pressed discs, so you need a stronger laser to read them. Your laser will die sooner if you crank it up so it can read burned media.

Do you know which server and channel he's in? Most people will say something like "you can find me in #channel on server.net", e.g. "#coolchan on freenode.net". You need an IRC client, e.g. the ChatZilla addon for Mozilla-based browsers, or a stand-alone program, such as mIRC. You'd enter the comman...

Re: Trouble read DVD-R disc on hardmod

The lower you set the laser, the better it will be at reading poor media, and the sooner the laser will burn out completely. It's your choice: if the laser won't read your media as is then your GameCube is already kind of useless, so you don't have anything to lose by making the laser stronger. It's...

Re: Trying to edit save data project

Nobody ever takes this approach. It's much easier to use cheats to get the desired effect during gameplay and then let the game save normally.

Re: Why are cheats way more unstable on GameCube hardware?

Honestly, most people have the opposite experience. Dolphin's codehandler doesn't behave the same as a real AR codehandler, so many codes that work fine on real hardware will crash Dolphin or behave incorrectly.

Re: Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)

Dolphin's codehandler isn't the best, and Dolphin's emulation is inaccurate in many respects, so codes that work fine on real hardware may not work in Dolphin. Ralf tests everything on a real GameCube, and I test all of the patches I post in Dolphin, but there's no guarantee that the codes will work...

Re: PSO I&II Plus and Swiss Black Screen

Sorry to bump an old thread, but did you test going online with the updated version? Somebody is trying to go online with PSO Plus using the SD card, but he says it freezes on the loading screen, whereas playing from a disc works fine.

Re: Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)

Grinding adds a +x to the end of the weapon name, where +1 grind is +2 ATP. Each weapon has its own grind cap from 0 - 250, so you have to know what the weapon's maximum grind is, or the anti-cheat will set the value back to 0 if you exceed the cap for that weapon.

Re: any easy way to widescreen through nintendont wiiu

Well, somebody has to have made a widescreen code for the game you're playing, but I'm pretty sure Nintendont has cheat support. You can also patch your ISO if your game has a widescreen patch so you don't have to enable cheats.

If a patch exists to add 480p to a PAL game, it's probably possible to make an ISO patch out of it.

Re: Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)

Plus if we ever do get decryption for saves, we can use that for the downloadable quests too, because they are also tied to your system data. Yes, but since there are so many ways to get online, there's not much point in manipulating the quest files when you can just download quests normally from y...

Editing the save file is a lot of extra work if you want to make items. Just run your own server or connect through a proxy and use /item to create anything you want, haha. You don't need to slowly create items one by one with AR codes.

Hey cearp! The palette codes are inspired by your YouTube video. I shared it with Ralf with the hope that he might be able to overcome the limitation of having to define all the buttons beforehand, and after half a dozen attempts, we got the patch working. :) Thanks for demonstrating that it was pos...

Yeah, but I'm surprised Nintendo allowed such an accessory when it gives you writeable media to use with the console.

The label says SD Card adapter. I'm shocked that this exists. I guess it must have come out late in the GC's life when Nintendo was already resigned to the fact that there were ways to run homebrew on the system?

431B0000 is a floating-point number, not an integer, with a value of 155.0. If you change it to e.g. 434D0000, that would be 205.0 and in theory make the cars faster. (I don't have Burnout and haven't tested.)

Re: DVD Drive Emulator Question

I would recommend against using microsd. I have a gdemu, and it's a little fiddly inserting a full size sd card into a slot located inside the drive cavity. A microsd card would be a nightmare. You could use a microSD to full SD adapter for an existing card. I certainly wouldn't buy a new microSD c...

Re: Cleaning discs before burning

If by cleaning you mean checking the disc for dust and wiping it off before writing to it, then yes. If you mean using a cleaning solution, then no. You should get a better disc brand if they're coming that dirty right off the spindle!
