Re: GC dvd drive on PC?
You can't connect a GC drive to the PC, but you can rip GC/Wii games on PC using one of the few DVD-ROM drives that works with Friidump and Rawdump.

Re: Adding the missing F-Zero AX music to GX
IIRC .NET 4.0 was the last one to run on XP, or maybe it was 3.5. So far, I haven't been able to get GCR to run in WINE, either. You'll need to spin up a Windows 7 VM.

Re: Mario Kart: Double Dash LAN (2 Wii's) HELP!!
What I gathered from FIX94 was that the GC and BBA can operate faster than a Wii, which has to use software to mimic what the GC and BBA accomplish in hardware. The Starlet can only handle so much at once.

Re: CleanRip v2.1.0
Considering the skills and work involved to get a chip installed and working, I won't consider using a Xeno is the easiest way to use any homebrew. For people who regularly play GC, using a game exploit every time you boot the system so you can access Swiss is a huge pain. It's much easier to use X...

Considering the easiest way to run CleanRip is with Xeno, it certainly would be nice if you could get perfect rips that way.

Re: CleanRip v2.1.0
You never get the correct checksum when you dump with Xeno installed. You have to remove the modchip if you want perfect dumps.

Re: Mario Kart: Double Dash LAN (2 Wii's) HELP!!
You can connect more than one Wii, but the FPS will start to tank as you add more of them. You still need real cubes to max out the number of players.

Re: Mario Kart: Double Dash LAN (2 Wii's) HELP!!
The LAN games have no concept of what an IP address is, as they presumably operate at layer 2 only. Each NIC needs its own MAC address, or the LAN will not function properly. Apparently Devolution uses a hardcoded MAC address for its virtual BBA rather than selecting one randomly or allowing you to ...

Re: Question about GameCube game file replacement
I've never seen that error before and don't know what it means, so I can't help. It appears what you want to do is currently impossible. Maybe you should contact GCR's author to see if he knows what to do. Perhaps GCR 1.2 is in our future.

Re: Question about GameCube game file replacement
How many files are you replacing, and how big are they compared to the originals? Did you change the names of the new files to match the names of the old files?

Re: Question about GameCube game file replacement
GCRebuilder allows you to extract a game image to a folder, replace whichever files you want, and then build a new image. This is the only way to import files that are bigger than the original. Keep in mind, however, that an ISO built by GCR uses 2048 byte alignment, rather than 32768 byte alignment...

Use one of the full Dressing Room codes. Depending on which one you use, your Section ID will either stay the same (regular full Dressing Room) or change to match your new name (extended Dressing Room).

Re: Patching AR Codes into ISO
Look at the Readme linked on that page. It has the actual patch data in it: In case you want to hex edit yourself: Original New Offsets Values Values 2A384 38 C0 00 10 -> 38 C0 00 00 AC60C 7F E3 FB 78 -> 38 60 00 05 Since the offsets are so small, they're probably relative to the dol. Use GCRebuilde...

Re: Patching AR Codes into ISO
How easy it is to do depends on the type of code. If it's a simple assembly patch such as noping one instruction, you just need to find the right offset in the dol file by searching for that area in a memory dump and then searching for that code block in the dol. If you're adding new code, then you ...

Ah, OK, people just want the second memory card slot back. I thought serial port 2 had some extra benefit over putting the SD card into the memory card port.BimboBoop wrote:if I found a way to have both memory card ports free in order to use them with actual memory cards or microphone according my needs

Re: Hi, about Serial port 2 USB for Swiss, any chance?
If I might ask a dumb question, what's the point of using that port when SD adapters already exist for memory card port B? Is serial port 2 faster or going to give you a way to launch Swiss without needing to use a game exploit every time you boot the system (or Xeno + Swiss DVD-R)? It seems like a ...

What's the most recent version of Windows that lets you format with FAT16? XP? IIRC Windows 8/10 won't even let you format with FAT32 natively, only exFAT/NTFS; you have to use third-party software for traditional FAT.

The releases option is not shown on all project pages, for whatever reason. You have to type /releases into your browser URL bar manually to see if there are any binaries fairly often.

I've also been curious if using WEP instead of WPA(2) would improve the situation, but nobody has tried it yet. Changing the wireless channel is a good idea if you can scan to see which channels are most in use already.

Re: dreampi to cubepi?
For whatever reason, it doesn't matter if you have good signal strength. People will have their Wii and router right next to each other, and they still get disconnected without warning. Something about PSO dislikes using Wi-Fi on Wii for like 80% of people.

Re: dreampi to cubepi?
The Wii's Wi-Fi antenna is terrible, though, so almost everybody has to buy a USB Ethernet adapter, or they get randomly disconnected for no reason while playing. Thankfully they only cost 10 USD, unlike the GC BBA.
