Re: Game Boy Interface

This won't produce as good quality as the GCHD preset set to 480p rather than 960i. It's not a firmware issue. Ahh yes, I see that the Wiki has been updated since I last used it. I recall using settings that were only compatible with gcvideo 2.4d, but I suppose that's old info by now. (or maybe it'...

Re: Game Boy Interface

KEntaZX, I think these settings could work for you, use the GBI SR edition with these values: --zoom=2:3 --format=size=568 --scan-mode=progressive --no-overlay --scaler=nearest --matrix=identity With your firmware version, I think this should display on your tv just fine. Make sure your tv is not ov...

Re: Game Boy Interface

If there's no latency, it's odd there's a noticeable echo. I wasn't clear enough, apologies. I meant that my receiver does not produce any additional latency. It may or may not be a trustworthy test, but I 'benchmark' this using my Wii U and the gamepad. When I play a game like Smash Bros, or Mario...

If you're on a LCD TV, you may be able to set the latency to a minimum (there usually is a default value to match the video chain's).
Thanks for the advice. :) My gamecube is connected to an Onkyo Receiver, there's no latency coming from it whatsoever.

Re: Game Boy Interface

Just a question because I am curious. There's still a slight latency in GBI's audio (speedrunning edition). Do you think it's possible to reduce this even further or have we reached the limit at this point? I sometimes play multiplayer games with a friend using GBI and a real GBA. It sounds like the...

Re: Game Boy Interface

I am very happy it was useful. I hadn't actually tried to update to 2.4c yet to be honest, so I am glad to hear it didn't effect the steps at all. Someday I'll dust off my USB jtag thingy and try to find out a consistent way of having the USB be recognized by iMPACT. In the meantime, do you have an...

Re: Game Boy Interface

Just want to let you know that this guide is absolutely fantastic. I've been using this method twice to update my Carby (to version 2.4b and 2.4c). The only thing that gets a bit messy is the USB port detection for XILINX, I have to retry that bit until the ISE platform detects it. Thank you so muc...

Re: Game Boy Interface

Gotcha, I think Iunderstand now. :) I can either change the colors with --lut3d and use Pokefan's lut's or I can set them using --matrix and --input-gamma, --contrast, etc.

Re: Game Boy Interface

I've a question, forgive me if this has been answered before:
If I were to change the colors to resemble the gba, what would be the difference and the results between using

Code: Select all

--lut3d=lutrgb-gba.png
and

Code: Select all

--matrix=gba
?
This is assuming you're supposed to set one option or the other.

Re: Game Boy Interface

I'm currently waiting for Insurrection Industries to post their guide on how to update gcvideo so I can update to version 4.2b. I mainly chose Carby because it allows updating using JTAG, but I unfortunatly have never done anything with JTAG so I don't know where to begin. =P Meanwhile, this is my ...

Re: Game Boy Interface

I think this is a scaling issue. Try adding this to your cli file: --scaler=oversample However, another thing you might wanna check out is whether your tv is not over-scanning, which means the picture size is bigger than it should be. Without the tv over-scanning, you can run gbi-sr with settings li...

Re: Game Boy Interface

I recently got the Carby adapter to play GameCube games on hdmi. The best thing about hdmi (for me) is that it allows my tv to set the picture to 'just scan' to eliminate overscan (Which I can't do on component or composite). So now I am using GBI SR with the following aparameters: --zoom=2:3 --form...

Re: Game Boy Interface

Interesting, I always thought that digital sound was better. Or is that not the case here? On a technical level yes, digital is "better" in that it is a more pure representation. But better is subjective and it's not necessarily faithful to how it originally sounded, either. For example, ...

Re: Game Boy Interface

3:2 ratio works fine on the normal gbi version for me That's because it's a display aspect ratio setting. 3:2 in GBI is equivalent to 1:1 in GBISR, and 4:3 is equivalent to 9:8. Ah yes, I can see now that it looks the same when I set it in 1:1 in gbisr, but then the sides of my screen seem to be cu...

Re: Game Boy Interface

I think I found an issue: On the speedrunning version, I can't set the pixel aspect ratio to 3:2, my tv just gives me the [no signal] screen. Few notes if it helps: - 3:2 ratio works fine on the normal gbi version for me - Other ratios such as 1:1 and 11:10 still work fine for me on the speedrunning...

Mario Power Tennis (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)

Hi, I'm looking for a code which can change the background music on the fly (Like assigning a certain song to the DPAD for example) Me and my friend love doing matches together, but the background music gets a little repetitive. :P Could someone help me out? Re: Luigi's Mansion (GCN/WIIRD/NTSC-U)

Hi, is there a code that makes money never dissapear when they are on the ground?
And is there a code that makes it so that all the closets, etc. have money instead of randomly?
This would definitly make the game more fun for me, as I won't have to reset as much.
