Re: Enable Zuru mode on Animal Crossing?
HxD uses HEX, and find the byte and you type... if you wanna change only one number in the pairs (like 0A to 0B, you type 0B) only one will turn red to show it's edited it's sounds funny when you say zuru mode... it's probably supposed to be Tool mode, from katakana ツール, which is how japanese say th...

Re: GCPlug Information - Inc firmware updates
I have one of them AliExpress GCplugs as there were a lot cheaper for me. £31 including shipping and no customs charge. Although I do have a few questions about updating its firmware. Is this the usb programmer I need to buy to be able to update the firmware? https://a.aliexpress.com/_sqxYAe What c...

Re: Swiss and In-Game-Reset
You need to put swiss.dol named as igr.dol on your SD card, then navigate to the settings in Swiss and set In Game Reset to igr.dol. The button combo is D-PAD down + Right Trigger + Z + B Why not Swiss.dol or boot.dol(for gcloader)? Is there any time you'd want something other than Swiss as igr? Th...

Re: Minimal ipl boot Viper GC
is it really not possible to lessen the bloat? disable video output?
accessing SD and booting a boot.dol shouldn't take that much code afaik.
I mean the zelda exploit for wii was kilobytes (~100kb including the hacked save)
what is making it megabyte at minimum now? :S

Re: GCPlug Information - Inc firmware updates
Don't be fooled, JTAG is way easier and doesn't involve soldering. depends though. The carby has JTAG on pins, so yeah the Pluto IIx doesn't have pinheaders on them, so need soldering (thought just temp.) or you can just sorta, told them in place I guess but it took a few minutes so you might get c...

Re: GCPlug Information - Inc firmware updates
odd, the ones I saw when searching gcplug on aliexpress was $50 at the cheapest. weakness of the plastic plug is if the cable gets pulles it could short out a 12v line in the connector and fry your cube. it's been mitigated but I don't think it's perfectly safe unless you get a metal connector. insu...

Re: GCPlug Information - Inc firmware updates
looking at prices the Carby with metal plug is only like $15 more so I'd stick to that... gives you full size hdmi as well.

Re: GCVideo DVI PLuto board reprogramming
ended up getting an xilinx jtag compatible box (DLC10) which I needed to run on XP (I had an xp laptop at hand, all other machines have win10 and xilinx impact 11.1 won't even run installer on that) with some mucking around I got impact to see the fpga and attached spi rom, told it to use the gc-vid...

Thanks for your advice! Since I am on holiday I do not have access to an oscilloscope. For now I bought the official programming adapter from knjn. When it is delivered and I am back at work I will compare the signals of the official adapter to my FTDI chip with an oscilloscope. I will let you guys...

Re: Game Boy Interface
I'm a bit confused about video modes and how to set them... I wanted to try 240p on GCVideo 2.4b but it gives no image at all. 240p works fine in gamecube games if I force it in Swiss. edit: my gamecube is PAL. by default I get 720x576p50 if I choose 480p60 I get the same if I set video type to NTSC...

Re: Updating from GCOS 1.X to Cobra 2.1
Sorry I'm pretty sure flashing with a flasher is your only option since you already left Cobra BIOS (only software that supports flashing I know of). I'm not sure if anyone has tried extracting the cobra OS as DOL... maybe that could be used to allow flashing from GC? since you got GC OS already can...

Re: Viper GC
Is the FFC in correct orientation?
Re: Viper GC
Yeah no doubt it's required, but I think you need to have both. the FFC cable if for hardware programmer. (dip switch setting, change from viper comm/programmer, you must set dip switch back to use viper normally after programming) Serial port on gamecube is only needed for the tools, like taking s...
Re: Viper GC
Hey, I just found out about IPLBoot and because SDLoad doesn't work for me with none of my SD cards, I'm thinking of flashing it to my Viper (not Extreme). One question: When I have flashed IPLBoot is it then possible to flash the Cobra BIOS again without the USB programmer? I don't own one so I ha...
Re: Viper GC
Yeah I flashed mine afew weeks ago. If you're using the programming cable and not the GameCubes expansion port make sure you use the right program and the dip switches are in correct position on the USB adapter.
