Re: Panasonic q (SL-GC10-S) mysterious QMode Switch and DVD Multimod apearently from techtronics
I know that it was common back then to add a chip to make a dvd player region free. But what is uncommon about mine is that i can change weather my Q boots in US or Japanese BIOS.....by pushing buttons on my remote.......while the Q is in standby. Links sangs modded Qs are switched by holding the po...

Do you know why the fan is so loud? From visual inspection its clean and the insides are dustfree cause the Q that i have has never been used really. Also do you know anything about the "QMode switch", i have one installed and it seems to be very rare and only one guy in Germany figured ou...

So i tried replacing my fan according to this: https://www.assembler-games.com/threads/panasonic-q-drop-in-fan-replacement-f76-error.68907/#post-970460 Bought the same fan and used a 3pin-to-2pin adapter. And the error f76 showed up. I bought the same fan and from what i understand i need to bridge ...

Re: Panasonic Q DVD region free Mod
My panasonic CD for region switching is a run of the mill generic dvd with the image burned to it with a of the shelf drive. The key is the softwar eversion of the dvd player board inside the panasonic q. If thats to high no disc, genuine or not will switch regions for the dvd motherboard. Also i di...

Re: Panasonic Q DVD region free Mod
Oh boy thats my jam. I have a panasonic q modded to be region free for gamecube (easy part, has a qoob pro) and region free for dvds( hard part, no kits available anymore). What i also have and what seams to be very very unique is that i can change the dvd region by using the remote itself while the...

Re: How to know if Viper chip works
I tried playing around with my normal gamecube where the replacement laser was from and i think the problem is in the laser itself. It died yesterday as well so now i have 2 completely dead lasers😅. I ordered a bunch of replacement lasers from aliexpress from different sellers, i hope by replacing t...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
Do the region switch first, get a US copy of Wind Waker, maybe a WiiSD too, then see if getting a chip is worth it. WW is not cheap these days, but maybe the faster exploit, there are some other exploitable games that are less sought for, 007AUF for example, but while the hack will only take 3 bloc...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
This modification was done by the shop where the previous owner bought it from. Lik-sang.com that no longer exists. It seems to me that an unusual, exceptionally large, number of panasonic q's were modded. So many that it's almost become hazy whether or not they were official in some sense. Of cour...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
Panasonic Q is NTSC-Jap. To make a universal video dvd reader for NTSC you need a service disk (that is not easy to replicate because it uses a special format). For having Pal compatibility you need also an extra memory chip and, from the photos I saw, also a pic with unknown content. Yeah i know al...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
For the DVD video Playback, aren't you in the european Zone 2? Japan is in that zone too, so it should just work. 8-) Isn't that good news? Yeah thats right but since the work on the gc motherboard has to be done i thought why not do the other thing as well if possble. But from what ive red there i...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
Yeah, i also think if i start doing it then im going to shorten the R6 so it stays in us mode forever and with a chip i would be able to play jap games and pal games anyway without having the problem of the memory card beeing formated. Now i just need a qoob pro and here we go.....

Ok to sum it up till now: Viper extreme, qoob pro work Xenogc only works if soldered differently since it connects to the dvd drive and in the q the dvd drive is different Are there any instructions, tutorials, how-to with photos that show where to solder those chips to the motherboard of the q or c...

Ok, but here are different contradictionary opinions: First we have the argument that viper and qoob work but xeno doesnt since someone tried it: https://assemblergames.com/threads/panasonic-q-overhaul-need-advice-on-dvd-drive-fan-replacement-and-xeno-install.49023/ And here we have a thread where s...

As a recent panasonic q owner i wanted to ask weather there are some guides how to install a modchip into the mashine to make it region free.
