Re: Hi, about Serial port 2 USB for Swiss, any chance?

Didn't already, seems that many experience problems doing this mod. I wonder if it is safe to solder straight in the vias under the CPU, as it can heat and desolder the BGA… I have slots on cards with cap already in place, and some without and I won't add them at first, it must be the closer to the ...

Re: Qoob Chip

I said that it may be slow, if even it is feasible, to add external Flash to a Xeno GC, and if we manage to add SPI memory, it would be worth to go the extra mile to get SD support as well. For this kind of application, you have better start with high-speed 8051 core µC who will be able to handle th...

Re: Gamecube corrupts graphics or hangs

Try to launch them off the last SWISS rev. from your SD, check if there is enough space for patches, and with analog out. But it seems it is GPU (memory) related, is the minimap OK in TP? Can you boot any off these problematic games straight off the original disc? I have read that RSII and III, and ...

Re: Problem with GC DOL 101

You may try to get the exploit for every game you have from the GC forever Wiki (which I think you already did, anyway) Then, download the latest GBI and in the MCBackup folder, pick GBI.gci, no matter you have or don't have a GBPlayer. Put those on your GCMemCard with GCMM. You should now be able t...

Is this chip that much specific in wiring (it has a DOL marking), or can it be replaced by a generic one?

Re: Pluto HDMI board audio issue

No, no analog audio out happens to me sometimes too, with the GCPlug (FW 2.4c). I'm not able to reproduce it, but it sure happened once or twice. Maybe you fried something wiring it wrong, it happened to me with my Zelda platinum GC, I killed the audio out (at least analog) tinkering in the Digital ...

Re: Problem with GC DOL 101

Trying with handmade stuff won't get you anywhere, because it is very error prone. First, you have to make sure the software side is OK, both what is on your GC Memcard, and what is on your SD card, that it works well together and with the game you're using to boot. One safe thing to do first is to ...

Re: Pluto HDMI board audio issue

Funny how this question pops up lastly. Seems that your board is somehow defective. Did you inspect the solder joints at last on the audio wire route? Eager to have opted for a GC plug. This should be merged to https://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4577 And https://www.gc-forever.co...

Re: Adding the missing F-Zero AX music to GX

Yes, that's just I had given away my former fanless (and headless) PC as I have found an SBC to do its job, but untill it is up and running, I didn't want to update my VM and BC partitions. I may end up with a "Hackindows" with W10 on the BC partition, as Apple left me on the side of the road for so...

Re: Problem with GC DOL 101

thanks! right now I want to use SD gecko, serial port 2 drives me crazy in my Dol 101  It shouldn't, there are only six wires to connect, and only two can be bothersome, but if it doesn't work one way, you just have to swap them. what would pin 4 be? call whom in which? these photos from this...

Re: Adding the missing F-Zero AX music to GX

Ok, so I downloaded the offline .net 4.5.2 on a page that supposed that it works with XP (M$ official site, yes), then, it wanted me to install the Windows installer 3.1, that I downloaded and installed, then, it asked for WIC, that I installed, then, it was still stuck, and seeking more information...

Re: Problem with GC DOL 101

Why is your autoexec.dol only 900kB? It should be the last swiss.dol renamed, unless you want to boot to another homebrew (gbi, or whatever…) It should work with the SD card in an SD Gecko as well, if you have one. The reddit you pointed to states fake informations: Loading via SP2 connection can't ...

Thank you for this, I was wanting to use GC rebuilder to mod Zelda Collector, but Windows (XP pro SP2) tells me it is not a valid win32 app, does it need a DLL, or is this version only 64bit compatible?

Re: Swiss Compatibility List Update (AKA Godzilla DAMM now plays on SD)

No, some games are reported as incompatible from the tests on previous versions but can be compatible as of the last release. It is better to re-test and update for those reported non-working with older SWISS releases, and adding others after testing. Seeing them in the list has no interest as long ...

Re: GameCube HDMI Compatibility

I have a GC Plug, and none of the displays that I tested it with showed problems with video nor sound (I have the 2.4c FW though). What happens is very strange, unless it's a specific problem to your installation (ie: bad soldering…), even unappropriate TV/display settings must not lead to so much i...

Re: Problem with GC DOL 101

First make sure the boot forwarder you put on your Memcard is SD2SP2 compatible. Maybe you just put an iplboot.dol on your Memcard and forgot to put SWISS.dol as ipl.dol at the root of your SD card. :P Maybe there is an error in the pin namings as with the Dol-001 connector that leads to mismatch in...

Re: Pluto Board Audio Issues?

No, these might be outputs, try the composite ins or PC audio, and see your TV's manual for specific HDMI setups. The simpler would be to connect to a stereo for the sound unless there is a way to add analog sound to your HDMI ins on the TV, And then if you don't have audio output from the console, ...

I'm planning on testing various configurations to see how much power draws one thing or the other, and see if I can power two GCs+GBPs with only one powerblock (GC or even Wii's). Sure enough, if we think about what was available back in the days, with only the original power block, you might be abl...

Streetwalker> Yes, I know that's a lot of work, and don't deny it, but it's the fact that compared to what is already available to play GBA on a TV, It's a little more expensive. Re: Pluto Board Audio Issues?

Very few use custom-tailored GC-Video FW, and it was the case with the 2.4 flavour, I don't know if it is even still true with the v3 as it adresses many of the flaws of the standard v2.4 FW. Yes, just use the composite cable for its RCA audio connectors, and Video through HDMI, but beware, activati...

You may not get any better with a plug and play solution, it seems to be an incompatibility on your TV. Check your TV settings, or just disable the HDMI audio, and get the analog audio from the original AV cable. ;)

GB Player Consolizer

Don't know wether this topic may better be in Handhelds, as the GBPlayer is traditionnally Gamecube based, and the consolizer concept is to make a TV game console off an handheld so… I was wondering why the consolizer concept hasn't been ported to GBPlayer, as it would be a way not to sacrifice GBAs...

Nice if it worked! I would have guessed the patches are small enough to keep in ram, or almost useless depending on the settings you chose, but better than guessing, Emu Kidid may just tell us. Some discs, for example multi-dols ones are very long for writing patches, but maybe uselessly if at the e...

Re: GameCube and USB-C

Inside the console is a 5 Amps fuse, so 3,5A might not hurt. While there are OEM power bricks as well as third party ones for far less than the price of the board you pointed, I don't see the plot in converting USB-C 5V power to GC 12V. The 12V OEM is quite easy to repair if it even dies, and if you...
