Re: Modded Panasonic Q - how to switch between regions?

I suspect it is not only to unlock all region, but also to add PAL software compatibility, since most PAL DVDs are already in Zone2, as Japan is. Anyways, JAP WindWaker can be had for quite cheap (At least compared to PAL version), so setting up an exploit for it may be the way to go. ;) Getting one...

Re: Modded Panasonic Q - how to switch between regions?

I don't have any clue, but I'm curious to know if the PAL mod is only for games, or if you got the PAL-capable DVD player mod as well.

Re: IPLboot on Qoob pro doesnt work

Ok, so the adapter must plug as deep as a Nintendo Memory card, so it will only have 15mm off the front plate. Recent WiiKey/WiiSD do not always fit perfectly so their board may need a little adjusting, or be hard to plug in otherwise. Also, I have seen it twice, you have a little bit of plastic, fr...

From the v0.5 r990 changelog:
"Remember cheat selections whilst in the game info menu"

That should do the job.

Re: IPLboot on Qoob pro doesnt work

What is the format and size of your SD card? Where do you put it on the console?

I suspect your card is in ExFAT format, or in the SD2SP2, and the IPL boot version you got is compatible with none of that.

Re: My GameCube clock seems to stop when I unplug the power cable.

Changing the settings each time will be quite annoying, you'd better change or have someone change it for you, then you'll be good for 10+ years. It is very unlikely you won't find someone among your friends or relatives to do it, I personnally did it for some friends of mine (GB carts). Best, you c...

Re: Wind Waker won't recognize my save file years later :(

OK, it works there, but there is only one file (from 2012) at the beginning of the adventure (arriving at the fortress for the first time), nothing to tell home about, you have better start a new file from scratch, or find a save with the "hero quest" to begin.

Re: Best way to connect GC to HDMI?

Sure, it will work out of the box, but interlaced video renders like shit on most lcds because of upscaling, so you'll want to be able to run all your games in progressive, which all don't offer natively in the NTSC library, and none at all in the PAL one. ;)

Re: Uncovered Oficial Nintendo Gamecube Portable*

This can be very much a sketch of the Dolphin project, not another portable variant of this console, many things kept in the final product wouldn't have been needed otherwise, the 8cm DVDs, controller connectors on another board, and very small footprint MB haven't been worth it, to begin with, one ...

Re: Best way to connect GC to HDMI?

If you only have an HDMI display, you would want a DOL-001 Gamecube as only those have the Digital AV out, then, you'll want a GCVideo based device with SWISS, mandatory to force progressive mode on games that don't offer it natively (some NTSC and all PAL ones don't). You'll be able to find the GCP...

Re: VBA GX Wii

Isn't there something in the controller adapter or the mapping settings that can interfere with that "shortcut"?
For example, did you try both the way the controls are remapped, and the way the console receive these controls?

Re: Wind Waker won't recognize my save file years later :(

Try to put the card and disc in the console before powering it on.

Is the game disc the exact one you used years later? You won't be able to use an NTSC save with a PAL disc, for example, plus, some games have different versions available even in the same region. (Not WW AFAIK)

Re: Viper + SD2SP2

I don't see why one wouldn't be able to, as IPLboot can be used as a DoLauncher. But I just presume without real knowledge about what it takes. For example, when the SP2SD2 support in SWISS was announced, I assumed it would be as easy as sacrificing the SlotA by just changing the EXI adress in the e...

NiHuSu's version of Suloku's DoLauncher is actually less than 128kb and supports SD2SP2, what is so special about IPLBoot that makes it so desirable? (I've used both in their SD2SP2 upgraded version as Dolaunchers from game exploit, and I don't see any difference…) Ledu205 made an attempt with the I...

Re: Can a sd2sp2 be used as memory card?

There seems that some games already have hard times running with too much patches enabled, plus, there were some patches that are (were?) always enabled as default. In the commits, you can read: " - Use patch-free apploader for generic boot images. ", maybe it is an attempt to run the lightest on pa...

Re: PokéLoad - A Colosseum/XD Exploit

Along the save exploit (gc6p.gci), you'll have to put a file (boot.gci) that can be anything from SWISS (in the gci folder), any version of GameBoy Interface, or a forwarder to a flash memory card (usually called DoLauncher) but then, you'll have to put SWISS.dol at the root of the card you're using...

Re: Format when using GC-loader (FAT32 or exFAT)

If you ask me, HFS+ may have been better…

Don't know much about GCLoader at boot, but SWISS is just nice with FAT32, and I personally need my cards not to be in ExFAT format (for compatibility on the computer side).

Is it a AV/RCA cable, or a RGB/SCART one?
Maybe your TV is not set to the right input.
You can also check the cable wiring, if you have a multimeter.

Re: Gamecube boot black screen

Unless you have a cable that has very wrong wiring, you can't have no video and no sound at the same time. I once get a Wii RGB SCART Cable from china that did not match European, neither Japanese wiring, so I had to modify it to work. Do you even really get a black screen, or no signal at all? Is t...

Re: Dumping Datel unlicensed discs?

So you had better boot SWISS off an official Nintendo licenced game disk, they are far more reliable, and some are even much more cheap if you don't already have one (or don't have a spare memcard)! As long as you can boot SWISS or any homebrew on your Cube, set up a couple Game Exploits and keep th...

64K should do too. For the 4GB file size limit, you just don't care as GCs disk images can't be bigger than 1,4GB. ;)

This is the battery beginning to fade out. ;) It is not exactly stopping when you unplug the power cable, but a little while after you turn the console off (can be a couple hours or more). If you change for a new one, your console will behave just like it should, but if you don't, the console settin...

Re: Noob question launching game from GCloader

The thing is that SWISS is quite a unique and unprecedented piece of software that enhances games with the real medias and on the original hardware. If one wants to run lighter on patches, there still is the option to disable video patches at all. By what means can 240p look better than 480i on a CR...
