Re: SD Media Launcher Issue

It's very unlikely you don't already have an SDSC laying around in an old camera or something. You don't need a big one.
Then, if you have a game that can be exploited and a second memory card (you can't save the game on a cracked save), you'd probably better boot off it straight on SDHC/XC cards. 8-)

Re: Enhanced mGBA

There is a way, when you append a CLI file to GBI to do so, It may work with emGBA as well. Tested GBA saves portability: Tested with Doom. It works well, but with the Supercard miniSD, the roms can't sit on the same card, since it can't run unmodded GBA roms, and emGBA has a hard time running super...

Re: GBA early flash Cart questions.

I suppose both adress and data paths are limited so you have to have some kind of bank switching logic to adress huge amounts of data needed in games, plus the memory type selecting. Maybe very (I mean very) little programs that don't need specific features (extra RAM, game saving) can fit on a cart...

Re: Hello, everyone! Let's get to know each other!

Welcome here. Beaten most times: ZeldaWW only once and the only game I've beaten so far on the cube, since the main purpose of my nintendo consoles is to play Zelda. Most wanted game: Ocarina of time Master Quest, since I broke my WW gamecube's audio, and traded the full package complete in box for ...

There's a bug in upstream libogc where mounting a memory card will corrupt the Game Boy Player Start-up Disc settings, so you're now on control type B.
Would a next libogc update be able to fix this issue so the subsequent GBI updates will correct this?

Cheaper than what I expected!

Comments seems to tell they are good enough to be read on unadjusted laser pot's gamecubes, can you confirm this?

Re: Memory Card Questions

You can pull or insert a MC anytime you want provided the console is not reading from, or even worse, writing to it.
In game or in the IPL, there is a message prompt saying you shoudn't pull the memcard during writing operations.

Re: GBA early flash Cart questions.

Back in the days, you had "linkers" that were cart readers/writers that connected to Parallel or USB ports on PCs, there were also Magic Keys (NEO) that were early NDS homebrew devices, that can write on some of those early carts when put in the DS's Slot2. They may work with the GBP, GBI booted or ...

The master code is needed to use the whole other codes, so not activating it doesn't seem to be an option.
Do you have a way to try with real hardware (DOL or RVL-001) and ISO on SD?

Re: Hi, about Serial port 2 USB for Swiss, any chance?

The only thing I found could be improved is if the SD card port itself goes closer to the Serial Port 2 Cover's Side hole. You can remote-wire the µSD slot wherever you fancy (still, the shorter the cables, the better). ;) If I might ask a dumb question, what's the point of using that port when SD ...

Re: Removal of clock crystal on GCN

It may work if the RTC is autonomous and that nothing in the workings of the console relys on RTC genrated interrupts, nor in-game timing.

Just trying probably won't hurt as long as you are able to put the crystal back in place if it doesn't work.

Then I modified the meta.xml using your pastebin, but I'm still seeing 480i resolution. Any idea what am I doing wrong? Ae YOU seeing 480i, or does YOUR TV assumes the signal is 480i? My TV just ignores 240p and takes it as 480i, it is very common. Unless you have a CRT, there's little chance that ...

Re: New to HOMEBREW, SWISS, & GBI. Need help!

If you're not already set up for GC mini DVD bruning, it can be quite risky to go this way at first. Check around in your neigbourhood or relatives if you can't get hold of a modded cube or capable wii, and an exploitable gamecube game, there are both very good ones that are worth to get, and cheap ...

I'm afraid the GBA won't be able to write to the Rom area in a cart.

Although the bus differs much from the GB/GBC, so I hope I'm wrong.

Re: GBP Start-Up Disc Japan useful?

Try to run it from SWISS, off an SD card, maybe you have a bad ISO.
I had no problem runnig the euro ISO on my Gamecube (Stock GC, Not tried 480p BTW).

Few games really need to be burnt on discs to run well. Always double check your ISO is clean before burning, either way.

Re: How do I compile DOL files?

The fact is finding compiled releases on Github is not as straightforward as some may expect, when you're not directed to the right "directory". I personnally have hard times with the "awkward" ergonomics of the website, and while I may have good reasons to rely on this site for an oncoming project ...

it may be that the WiiU has buffers to anticipate the TV's Lag.

I just checked, my TV doesn't add lag to the inputs, only to the Broadcasts.

Re: GBP Start-Up Disc Japan useful?

Why the heck would you bother getting a japanese version of something when: 1. You're not able to understand such language. 2. You can get one in your own language. Apart from a collector's point of view, there are no reasons to do so, first, your GC can run any region disc, and the GBP hardware is ...

It was already answered in another thread, but because of their hardware design, some Flascarts may cause weirdnesses when using the reset button, same goes for multi-rom carts. It can usually be adressed by pressing the reset button a little longer than needed by original games, or, in extrem cases...

Re: Replacing GameCube fan (

It's gonna be more and more difficult to get unmodded and working units, so it can be wise to use game exploits to launch Swiss instead, to avoid the risk and hassle of soldering such circuits. You may be able to get the screwdriver for less than $2 shipped, but if you can get another gamecube with ...

Ali has Xeno GC clones for damn cheap, but still, there are game exploits that may run SWISS quite fast, and won't cost more than the WiiSD (SD Gecko clone), that you may need even with a hardmod, assuming you already have one of those exploit-able games*, if you manage to gather the hardware to get...

Any fan won't be power hungry to the point it can sink or damage the GC unit or PSU. Try first to blow the original fan (off the GC and disconnected), the lubricant sometimes sticks when not used for long. Blow the air intake and outlet, the straight and reverse ways, if you find dust inside, it won...

Try to clean discs and lens, check if the discs don't show signs of "plate separation", it can be seen sometimes from the border, the metallic sheet shows irisation.
