Re: Sd2sp2 won’t boot or be seen by Swiss.

Pretty sure v3 can't read SD cards off sp2, validate the working ay booting a fresh SWISS version off an SDGecko from which you may be able to read then.

Re: 1080i60 on 60Hz titles?

That's the limits of the Wii in terms of backwards compatibility.

SWISS is written with the GC in mind, it is the priority target.

I too, would have loved to be able to get 1080i output via Wii's component cable.

Re: IDE-EXI "v2" source

That adapter can probably be routed via SP2 as well, so the SP1 would keep free.

Time to design an SP1 to SP2 stackable bay.

Re: Swiss settings: vertical offset

It's to adjust the lines where the frame takes place among the scan lines. It's more useful if you display on a line perfect device, without overscan, or if you want to properly capture the frame. The console has the horizontal offset adjustment integrated in the IPL. No clue about what the vertical...

Re: Normal Gamecube pricing

Prices tend to get higher and higher, you have to take into consideration what you may want to add to the setup if incomplete. For example, if there are valuable games, or two original controllers in good condition, that could save you 30~40 each for after. Beware of not getting a DOL-101 that may b...

Re: An Error ocurred

The outer ring is paricularly valuable as it contains data that can prevent the game from booting. Also, "sunfaded" discs are a pain for the cell too. You can clean the laser, and the discs, but if heating makes it fail, the best you can do is dump your games then run them off an SD card, so you won...

Re: Info how to create a banner...

Curious about this F-Zero-AX too, is it a Triforce hacked rom, or the GC hacked one?

Has somebody "converted" a homebrew .dol to fake GC ISO so that you can have custom icon for that specific homebrew? That would be nice as long as SWISS doesn't support custom .dol icons (or does it already?).

Yes, it can be run from Swiss, that's the way I (scarcely) use it.
Beware with flashcarts, I have a GBPlayer that can't run my SuperCard mini SD (the purple, while the Black and Platinum are just OK with it. Hope the ED is much more compatible.

Re: How would I go about making a Switch Pro Controller function on a Gamecube?

There are Raphnet's adaptors too, but I also hope they would make a 4 ports module for the console that allows connection of WiiU/Switch wireless controllers, and a module for the controller side that would allow to convert a Wired GC controller into a full-featured Switch's wireless one, with rumbl...

Happy to see there are specific aspect ratios for more games now, and that they seem to be able to be enabled/disabled in the settings.

What is "clean boot", and what's the use of that?

Re: Game Boy Interface

If GBI can write to GCloader, I assume emGBA can as well, so you can backup your roms with GBI, then run them with emGBA.

You'd be just fine this way unless you want to use hardware features, such as link multiplayer gaming, or backup GB/C roms.

Re: In search of EU to US AV-converter cable. Help?

Making console and cable match can be hit or miss with big N ones, as they shared the same connector along three generations, but with slight wiring differences between them, and even between different regions (or sometimes different variants) in the same generation. Anyways, there is nothing that m...

Typically what high level programmers tend to ignore.
To add to that, integer computation usually is dramatically faster than floating point one, to the point you can sometimes achieve the same in more operations but still less time.

Re: Virtual Memory Card corrupt?

You boot trough IPL (It's a setting of SWISS), press B not to straight launch the Game, then go to the Memcard manager and format the virtual memory card (pull off any memcard before, not to mess something).

Games can't format a memcard?

Re: [Not64] GameCube controller analog sticks are too sensitive

Strange that an emulator doesn't max the input value to the max physically reachable on an original controller… The GC/Wii Thrustmaster Kart Challenge Wheel offers a sensitivity setting too, although I never used it. I know that it can be a way of "cheating" for faster, if not greater input values, ...

Re: Gamecube Softmodding Question

A SD adapter of any kind is worth it. And the only thing you need then.
You'll be able to try and save swiss and GBI settings. You'll save your lens by avoiding reading bad burnt discs and pot tweak. Also your time and money not having to bother finding right media and settings.

It may say to insert the first disc.

Clean the disc and check for dye separation on the outer edge, that's what happens when a disc falls on the ceiling.

Re: Softmod GameCube software?

Flashing a firmware is a SoftMod anyways. :P

Chips are HardMods and not so many of them allow to run backups by themselves, you still need discs, it's a matter of media, and cartridge-based consoles allowed to run pirate copies/multirom carts without any modification too, so…

Re: [Not64] GameCube controller analog sticks are too sensitive

Sensitivity<>precision

If the stick hits the end of his race without getting to the ultimate value it is supposed to output, it is too precise.
If it outputs its max value halfway its race, it is too sensible.

The dead zone is usually stretched or shrunk along with such behaviours.

Re: Softmod GameCube software?

I assumed the OP aimed more broad emulation, but asked here specifically for the GC games. As long as we don't have proper N64/PS/DC emulation on the Wii, I can understand if someone is looking elsewhere for the host hardware. Otherwise, it's clear that it is worthless to try another way than just t...

Re: Concerns About Recently Acquired Pre-Modded DOL-001

It is better to have the SD card adapter anyways, to keep settings saved at least (GBI and SWISS). GBI can be run off a memcard, SWISS will need a quite bigger one. You can set up a memcard for save exploit with a GC compatible Wii, softmodded or not (GCMM can be launched off the letterbomb hack). T...

There's no mathematical absolute answer, it not only depend on the hardware, but on the software also. Look further into video formats, but keep in mind most of the GC library is fille...

If you don't want to sacrifice a controller to do a custom one/arcade stick, there are little boards that are designed just to do that.

Re: Softmod GameCube software?

There currently is no way to permanently softmod a GameCube, but you can upgrade from the AR hack to a Save Exploit, which may be faster to load, and easier, as you can get SWISS to boot straight from a bigger SD card (Fat32) where you'll have all your backups. I personally bought 007AUF, Splinter C...
