Re: Is my GC's Serial Port 2 damaged?!

Yeah it works around the EXI bus issue where the data flows back out and sends SD cards/devices garbage when using DMA. Note that it doesn't work in slot A, it'll just fallback to normal PIO functionality there OK, so that is enough for it to be a v2 device? Is it needed for Ethernet adapters too? ...

Re: Swiss version 0.6 is released

But the emulation's virtual memory is functional, despite some limitations. Memcard emulation and Virtual Ram on SD card are two very different things. However, I haven't been able to modify one or create a folder for the emulator, Wii, backups, etc. It still relies heavily on external platforms fo...

Re: FlippyDrive ODE

There are SPI ethernet options now, I don't expect development going both ways, ODEs are not widely adopted, and there is quite a variety of them around. Maybe we can expect SPI WiFi options in a close future, even through ESP XXXX chips, that would open possibilities for both emulating BBA on Ether...

Re: Is my GC's Serial Port 2 damaged?!

Until recently, I had a 128GB SD card with NKit ISOs in SP2 and 2GB SD card with emulators and utilities in Slot B. I had an 1GB formerly, but it ended up dying on me, It had been used much in a camera for years.

Re: hello forever

If you have time and knowledge to dive into retroarch for GC and patch it to a working workframe, you'll be welcome. Or at last try some of the emulators on each new stable release to confirm if still working from the previous or broken anew. Otherwise, getting a full and up-to-date SWISS manual in ...

Re: Swiss version 0.6 is released

The configuration file is already on the SD card, I don't see it flooding the GC's ram anyways. Displaying the covers can probably be done, but it may slow down SWISS file browser. Using SD card as virtual memory is not an option, as it will be slow and it may eventually kill the card. Settings had ...

Re: Is my GC's Serial Port 2 damaged?!

If you bought it for homebrews and emulators, you should have bought an SD to memcard slot adapter (Commonly called SD Gecko, although we only see WiiSD in the shops for centuries) for the sake of compatibility. For the same reasons, it may be better to format your card to Fat16. Some older HB and e...

You can have a look at raphnet's work, it's open source. It's basically the opposite, but it may be very instructive.

Re: 60fps request

Some GC games are frame synchronized, so forcing 60Hz may result in speeded game. If it is not, it's probably running as fast as it can.

I'm curious to know how it can be done, if it can ever be.

You may read it in the readmes, what you look for is a way to concatenate files in the command line interface your computer has, there are many tutorials online for that.

Get the N64/GC RF modulator, find an antenna coax to screw post adapter, connect it to VHF screw posts, then set one channel to the same channel your RF switch is, then you're done! https://www.reddit.com/r/n64/comments/192jd6e/hooking_up_n64_to_ufh_television/ It may not be the ultimate Trinitron e...

Re: PICOBOOT IPL SO signal

On SPI bus, every peripheral device is connected in parallel to the SO line, each one talking when its turn arrives. Don't you pull the IPL's CS pin up to solder it to a wire in the install process? ExtIn may stand for External interruption, so it may be just to halt the IPL and allow the Picoboot t...

Wasn't able to find the 1.9.2 download anymore. In 1.0.0.2 at least, I did not have to load the core twice, just to open cps1 dol. It's not more complicated than go to the official source for that: https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.9.0/ Saved a lot of space discovering the nkit file sizes, but...

Re: GCN Disc Drive Motor not spinning despite working + Other Issues

Nobody has the skills nor tools to be able to swap optical blocks off the disc unit nowadays. Your disc drives are just f***ed up now. Did you first try to "exercise" the laser block, sliding it back and forth by hand, then clean the lens with alcohol and earsticks? The motor usually don't...

It sure is a big stepstone between old world videogames and new (current) generation, it had a span of output possibilities going from RF output that could accomodate the older TV sets still up and running, to digital AV output, that can be understood (thanks to some conversion boxes) by the last 4K...

Hello and welcome, nice to see such utility as long as things like gci extraction from raw files, or raw files expansion are not supported by GCMM AFAIK.

The fact it is online makes it more universal, as it may not be straightforward for mac users to use windows-dedicated software.

Retroarch Milestones for me are: 1.0.0.2, 1.9.2, and I have to test the last version to see if the core still has to be loaded twice to work as it is the case from the 1.9.3 on. Don't forget to run RA from the desired scan frequency for the targeted emulator/game already set in SWISS, as RA on GC ca...

There are a bunch of arcade games that had been emulated through "official" releases, in the form of arcade games compilations, such as Midway arcade treasures, Namco museum, and some others that I probably don't know about, you may encounter Joust in one of them. :P

We reach now to 2TB µSD cards, which is way enough space for an entire localised fullset, and over the maximum data throughput the machine can handle. We also have M2 interface option, which still fits within the machine's dimensions. Are you just a newcomer that don't know every mass storage soluti...

Thanks for the videos, your CG Disc reader seems to struggle, it takes sooo long to know what disc is inside. I have never seen that loading screen on any of my GCs (or maybe it doesn't exist on PAL GCs, that have later IPL FW compared to NTSC ones).

Re: Melee Exploit (Home Bros) doesn't work with MemCard Pro

Melee and F-Zero save hacks are among the most cumbersome to use, even though you have an OEM memcard.

Plus, using hacks on memcard pros are much likely to lead to accidentally erase those files.
