Re: Viper GC Extreme not playing backups

As a last resort, you can try this: Another thing you can try is taking a black or dark permanent marker and draw a line at the end of the disk surface (label side, off course). See image. http://www.businesscardsondisc.com/minicd-r_minidvd-r_paper_label.jpg The part you want to colour is from the e...

Re: PAL NR-Reader how much is it worth?

20 euros? thats a steal. i'm surprised nobody on assemblergames found it, hehe but yeah 75 - 90 euros seems to be the normal going rate for unboxed ones right now. getting cheaper and cheaper every year. i also removed your last photo since it was showing the internal serial number. you never know....

@megalomaniac: Not sure if I'll sell it, but if I do, you'll be the first to know ;)

@wii_HD: were those PAL or NTSC-versions? Did they come with any other accessories?

PAL NR-Reader how much is it worth?

Picked this sucker up for 20€ on ebay a few weeks ago. It's in somewhat good shape (almost no scratches on the jewel, 2-3 bigger scratches on the case and bottomside, that's about it) and the Nintendo Seal isn't broken. Since it can only play special NR-discs and pretty much nothing else, I was wond...

Re: Anybody know this cable? Is it worth the money?

Nope, didn't buy it. Actually, there were two (one from wolfsoft and another homemade one) and I missed both of them :/ They both sold for around 50€. (Dunno if it was someone from the forums)

Re: Removing scratches from GC jewel with Brasso

I've heard that Meguiars Plastx works for the sticker-type jewels...haven't had a chance to try it out though. I'll see if I can get my hands on some and post the results here.

Re: Removing scratches from GC jewel with Brasso

Sadly it won't work on the newer jewels...they're stickers like the IcedCube jewels. Tried toothpaste and Brasso to no avail...it only made things worse. Yes they are glued on, I don't know how to remove them without damaging them. Tried it with a needle and some thread but you could see every littl...

Removing scratches from GC jewel with Brasso

I was going to post this earlier but have never got around to finishing it. Here's a great way to remove light scratches and even some deeper scratches from GC jewels. If your Jewel is heavily scratched / has deep scratches, it's advisable to do this: You could also let a very high grit sandpaper (m...

Re: Anybody know this cable? Is it worth the money?

Wolfsoft aren't right in the head though: I clearly remember me fixing two of their noob Xbox installs for a couple of friends. One was hotglued to the static casing and had wires all over the board, the other one's PCB was soldered onto the Xbox MB! I managed to desolder and place a header inbetwe...

Re: Anybody know this cable? Is it worth the money?

That is the idea, using Composite from AV-output and RGB from Digital Out to achieve SCART (RGB) connectivity for NTSC and JAP consoles. So there is a MX-chip used, and based on rarity it explains the high price.. Makes perfect sense! Thanks for clearing that up! But even with an MX-chip, I think 1...

Anybody know this cable? Is it worth the money?

Just found one of these http://www.wolfsoft.de/shop/product_info.php/products_id/10605/product/kabel-gamecube-deluxe-rgb-2m-(usa,jap,pal).html on ebay and just wanted to ask if it warrants the hefty price tag (on Wolfsoft it costs about 100€). How would this cable compare to the VGA-cable / official...
