Re: Name that Gamecube thing.

I think that's a cardboard model for shop, as emu_kidid pointed out.
I used to work at a game shop myself many moons ago and we had such a promo thingy... shame on me for trashing it in the bin after some years...

EDIT: ...although it DID have the same size as a regular Cube...

Re: Upgraded my xbox to 128mb

Do you know if BadAd also offers a pre-installed mobo service by any chance? He's in the UK, just across the pond for me.
Pretty interested... might PM you soon too.

Re: Streaming Games from PC to GC?

Alright, really stupid question now:
I always wondered if streaming/sharing would be possible without the use of a PC...
Talking about an external network HDD connected straight to a console.
I assume the app just looks for an IP address... so... Will it work?? (always wanted to try this with an Xbox)

Started playing this one about a week ago... Still have to get into it, it's pretty decent so far, except the annoying part of using the 'retro-style' controls. I doubt the gameplay immersion will grow though...

Re: Wii Component Cables

Good question, I've also seen them range from € 10 to € 20, even though they both looked like equal shit in the box... So I'd go for the cheaper version actually. And I'd like to add to that: isn't it possible to get 720p if for instance your console is set to NTSC? I know the regular PAL Xbox didn'...

Re: Still not working...

So how do I defrag that? I mean, it's just 1 iso file, can that be fragmented??
..or are you talking about the HDD itself maybe. (I un7-Zipped all from 1 HDD to the Fat32 Swiss HDD.)

Again, pretty sure it worked with a WiiKey...

Re: Still not working...

I noticed it shows up a RECYCLED folder and some others... which is weird to me. I'll check if it's fixed by deleting these and check if it's possible to sort by name again first. If that doesn't help, I'll reformat. (Did you use a different program or the same one?) Also gonna try with another game...

Still not working...

Bought a IDE/EXI from sm4rty a couple of months back and I finally managed to make me a power supply tray for an IDE HDD. Tried a Maxtor 80GB model and used this to format in FAT32: http://tokiwa.qee.jp/EN/Fat32Formatter/ Placed my dumps on the HDD, but the first couple of times it didn't recognise....

Re: Anybody know this cable? Is it worth the money?

Just walked in: the price is for rarity only. I was lucky enough to find me an (already rebuilt to VGA) D-terminal cable for only € 15, had to get me less than € 5 in parts and used a botchered PS2 cinch cable to make me a Q RGB cable. Wolfsoft aren't right in the head though: I clearly remember me ...

Re: Swiss 0.2

I ripped my complete GC collection to SD already (about 15 games) without troubles on the Wii. Takes about 25 minutes per game. When trying to zip the iso's, they remain quite big though... (never touched them with any app, so the sizes are original) Would it be possible to have an option in Swiss t...

Re: Swiss on GC with Viper Extreme

...so yeah. If this isn't feasable because of size restrictions, would a new version of SD-load with SDHC capability be an option? (And making it autoboot Swiss at the same time...) Tbh, I'm just looking for something which can be placed in a regular Viper's plug-in space & automatically boots S...

Re: Swiss on GC with Viper Extreme

Err.. yes I think. A 'shortcut' would be the good description, that looks for the actual app which is on the SD-card or IDE/EXI HDD... So instead of booting SD-Load and then booting Swiss, the shortcut boots Swiss directly. (Similar in behaviour to this one in case you missed it.) IIRC, it was possi...

Re: Swiss on GC with Viper Extreme

Just popping in since this seems to get some love again (might be the wrong place for it though): Still no news on a possible Swiss-loader for a regular Viper's Cobra flash? (I know you previously recommended SD-load as a plug-in, hence my question.) ...asking in general though, as some other member...

Can someone please enlighten me on where/how to switch 16/32 Mhz?
(Can't find any setting for that in Swiss... Does it only show up if there's a compatible SD card inserted?)

PS
Just for reference: my PAL Wii also has "Video: unknown"

Re: Swiss 0.2

Just place the dol in the root of SDGecko, not the entire folder in the root.
EDIT: Yes, there should be a clear structure overview in both threads' OP to avoid more confusion.

Re: Swiss 0.2

You don't need those. Get the first link from the OP. It should have a folder called 'Swiss' with contents that you need to place in the apps directory on the SD card which goes in the front port of the Wii. Place the file called swiss-lz.dol also in the same folder, but rename it to swiss.dol. Now ...

Weird behaviour for Swiss

I had something strange happen to me yesterday. At first I couldn't get to boot Swiss Booter from the HBC or the Channel Forwarder, depending on what the actual name of the path's folder was. I resolved that finally concluding they weren't looking for the same folder. (See my previous posts concerni...

Re: Can I use an USB-IDE adapter on the IDE-EXI one ?

I meant like having it in the external casing all of the time. Connect to PC via USB for files management, connect to IDE via adapters for play of games. Could always cut off a USB A-plug and solder a B-type on... Such an IDE-device works both ways normally, I've used two different models a lot of t...
