Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

It seems to be very similar to the way that you go from the machX02 to the DAC on the GCVideo lite. A lot of application specific lcd controllers simply use the 24bits of color and control those pins along with a hsync, vsync, and clock to control each pixel. Of course this means that you would have...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

Ok so I have a question. Do you think it would be possible to convert the digital signal from the gamecube directly to an 18bpp or 24bpp clocked 40 pin bus that could drive a stand alone TFT LCD display? I've been looking at using a shuriken video to go to HDMI and using a TI TFP401 to go from HDMI ...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

Knowing mega he'll just put the extra pads on the board to add the extra outputs and switch options to switch between the inputs.

Or I could just be hyping it up with demanding expectations. Only mega knows.

Re: WiiKey/Wasp Fusion SD card Slot Schematic and Wiring

Thanks for the complements andre. And yea I figured those links would expire. But I don't really have my own file host for public sharing. I could probably use git but I haven't gotten around to it. If you want some boards though you can order a trio from oshpark via the link. Remember you do have t...

I plan to do one but school just started and I've been hitting up a bunch of career fairs. Once I get more time I'll make a programming guide.

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

WE HAVE SUCCESS! http://i.imgur.com/AGOdXLq.jpg Something I didn't realize was that there's no way to see the IPL while in component mode so I have no way of accessing the clock or memory card and have to blindly start swiss. But now that someone found out about swiss autoboot the startup is simple....

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

Ha, that's what I get for replying via phone Swype. Vga and ypbpr * OK here's another question. How do I actually wire up component ntsc rca jacks? Just use the rgb pins that correspond to the ypbpr mentioned in the hardware readme? I'm just wondering if I have to do anything special with the sync s...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

They're in Stock on mouser. Digikey has them, they just have a minimum order quantity of 250. @unseen Those pads would explain a lot. I thought I had to short them to use your and left them unconnected to use via. :/ if it's another silly mistake I'm glad I'm documenting them. I definitely want to d...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

So after waiting a couple weeks and buying some new chips I'm still having the same issue. I thought I had just fried something when I went up to 3.8v for programming. But after trying 2 monitors and a 4.3" lcd with vga I had to borrow my roommates asus vh242 see if anything was going through. ...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

Yup, that was the problem. Programmed successfully on the first try after connecting the Vcc pin. However I've probably fried the DAC in the process. On my test monitor the vga complains that the frequency is out of range. (15khz to 30khz) And doesn't display anything on my 4.3" display, that f...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

There's a Vtarget pin required for this jtag connection? I just have the 3.3v, gc-video lite, and jtag programmer all sharing the same ground. Here's my programmer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-ISP-Download-Cable-Jtag-SPI-Programmer-for-LATTICE-FPGA-CPLD-/281641339929?hash=item419321cc19 Does the vcc...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

Ok so I tested from 3v-3.7v and got two different errors, the first is the original error, the second is a failed ID error complaining that there is no board seen what soever. Here's a more complete log. USB V2.0 detected. Check configuration setup: Start. Device#1 LCMXO2-640HC: Failed to verify the...

No dice on the programming, the JTAG line is not shorting anywhere. Do you think 3.066v is too low for programming?

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

Yea the wiring all looks good, I can't get it much better with hand tools honestly. When I click on device view it looks like it's detecting the x02, so I think my programmer is fine, but I'm not sure if that is what it means. Cable detects seems to work fine so I'm guessing the programmer is workin...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable

I made a little diagram for the sake of portables. Just a 5 minute wiring diagram using dirty portablizing tactics such as removing extra ground and voltage lines. I have yet to test it but it should work just fine. I excluded the csel and the 3 audio lines. Not sure if I needed csel though. I'll be...

Re: Questions regarding WASP and megadrive

Yes a V3 will work and it's the easiest and quickest to get you started. The locker type is just the clip mechanism on the FFC connector is just the way it stays in place. Locker is more sturdy but harder to push in. Up to you on that one. The only thing you need to make sure is that your cube isn't...

Re: GameCube Portable Battery Problems

Ok I think there may be some misunderstanding here. The board you've link to in the op is not a charging board. It's a charging protection circuit board. You do still need one but it's not going to charge your batteries. You'll need something like this. http://www.batteryspace.com/smartcharger18afor...

Heh, funny story about that one, :?

it's basically on hold, it has been for almost 3 years now. I'm going to be 3D printing the case for a new one and it's going to have some new features from another circuit board I'm developing.

Re: GameCube Portable Battery Problems

What is your actual charger? The protection circuit just keeps the batteries from shorting, over/undervolting and from high charge currents. You'll need an actual charger or charger circuit to charge the batteries. If you look at the P+ and P- terminals it will say charging and discharging electrode...
