Re: Qoob Chip

Papy.G: Qoob SX has dedicated parallel flash memory chip. It's possible to replace it but I'm not sure if it will be usable. I bet flashing tool is checking the file size so it might be required to use external flash programmer. Same story goes for Viper GC, if I'm not mistaken two use the same flas...

Have been using Swiss from a boot disc until now Don't wanna spam this thread but your best bet is Hyperboot which can boot ...

Viper GC Dev API

Hello I've recently started looking into developing homebrew stuff for GameCube. I really like it even though it's tough to get into C programming when you are used to writting in modern languages. Anyway, straight to the point - I'd like to write a simple software to dump ViperGC (standard one, not...

Re: Minimal ipl boot Viper GC

Weird. Viper and GCOS both have GUI and it's possible to flash them to ViperGC. Looks like there is a lot of garbage compiled in. I will try it myself once I find my LPT programmer.

Re: Gamecube lens and potentiometer

Definitely try various media and burners. My gamecube works best with Esperanza miniDVD's burned on laptop's built in DVD burner. None of my Ritek's discs burned on some recommended BenQ burner works.

I used to play my Wii games through external DVD drive since I haven't got HDD back then. Check uLoader, I believe this was the name of that homebrew.

What is the current state of IDE-EXI?

Hi,
I was wondering if it's a good idea to make IDE-EXI for myself. How is the compatibility and reading speed? Does it work comparable to disc drive?

BTW. I remember that some time ago megalomaniac and emu_kidid were talking about upcoming big announcement for GC scene. Is is still the case?

Re: GameCube Memory Card & SD Gecko Diagrams

Genuine, high quality memory card looks like this:

Maybe they cheaped out on these 1019 blocks memcards.

EDIT:
It's fake. It was discussed on gc-forever before: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2474

Re: GameCube Memory Card & SD Gecko Diagrams

I doubt this is a genuine one. It looks really crappy inside. I don't think Nintendo would place that nasty black blob instead of using real ICs.

Even if it's possible (it is) you still need to get that custom MX chip which is present only in official GC memory cards.

Re: Main analog stick "moving up" problem

If you hold the joystick when you turn on the GameCube, the system will read the direction as neutral. Hold the X, Y, and Start buttons together for 3 seconds to recalibrate the controller. If the problem persists, most likely analog stick needs to be replaced.

I'm using the same TDK discs. I'd recommend trying burning them on different burner. All TDK discs, burnt on some cheap DVD burner in my laptop work with no DRE's.

Awesome idea. V6 is really great product as it's not that hard to solder and it eliminates neccessity to remove drive socket from the motherboard. Would you share pcb files?

There is probably a short underneath. Make wire installation, you can use alternative points on the already damaged unit:

But probably it would be a better idea to give it to someone to do it for you... :)

Alternative points in case you messed some pads up: http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/threads/152691-xeno-ripped-off-need-soldering-wisdom-see-the-pictures Properly installed XenoGC with wires. You probably need to solder to other points but you can get idea how it should look like. https://ww...

Don't give up with that Xeno! It's easier to install it with wires. There are alternative points if you messed up, no worries.
