I already have the wiikey sd adapter. So is it worth to get the SD gecko or are there barely any changes between them?

Well yesterday I received from my cousin his old gamecube stuff(he had to clean up and make some space at home). I was wondering if it was possible to connect the gamecube to pc or laptop.
