Re: Component Cable Discussion

The difference between interlaced and progressive depends on your HDTV's upscaler. HDTVs can't do interlaced, so their framebuffer upscales everything into a full image. The difference is more apparent on a CRT screen where you can see small lines shake in interlaced. Some PS2 games double their int...

Hack 480p support into Mega Man 9/10

Most WiiWare games have native 480p support. Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 are two of the few that don't. This is a problem for me because the VGA cable I use with my Wii can't transcode 480i signals. So every time I want to play Mega Man 9 (I don't have Mega Man 10 yet) I have to move my Wii to an SDT...

Just tried all of them non-forced. They all work fine, except for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Master Quest, which seems to have the same error.

Because I don't own them.

I always use retail discs. :)
Did you try them not forced, did they boot?
No, I haven't. I'll give that a try.

Re: Temporary Compatibility list - SUBMIT YOUR RESULTS HERE

Just tested some games with r249, forced to 480p, hoping that something changed: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Master Quest : shows the "60Hz only" warning screen, then freezes with an "An error has occurred." error message Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II : boots, but in interlaced mode...

One obscure but good shooter is Big Bang Mini. Check it out.

As for RPGs:
  • Dragon Quest IV: The Chapters of the Chosen
  • Dragon Quest V: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride
  • Radiant Historia

Re: Wii64 discussion?

Just out of curiosity, why would you run Majora's through Wii64, instead of using Zelda Collector's edition? The version of Majora's Mask that's on The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition has issues, particularly in Clock Town, where the framerate takes a serious hit in some spots At least, that's...

I think when someone mentions loading hiccups (s)he should specify what medium the game is loaded from. I play from retail discs and I've never noticed hiccups of any kind while using Swiss.

It can do both. It's how VGA works on the PlayStation 2.

No need to get so defensive. I was honestly curious as forcing something to its native video mode is weird and unnecessary.

Mega Man X Collection is an NTSC game, so you shouldn't need to force NTSC. How were you trying to run it?

Re: Gamecube Digital AV to direct HDMI / VGA mod...

A component to VGA cable gets you VGA. I have one myself and I'm very happy with it. The quality is really good. A lot of research later due to trying to get VGA out of a PlayStation 2, I feel I need to amend my statement. What I have is a VD-W2 Wii VGA cable from VDigi. It outputs RGBHV. I suspect...

There should be a "-1" behind the disc's ID, which commonly ends in "EUR" for PAL games.
