Re: Swiss 0.3

I wonder when WiiPower will update his Swiss launcher so 576p is possible. He hasn't responded the PM I sent him more than a month ago. :(

Re: Swiss 0.3

Super Smash Bros. Melee (PAL) works fine with revision 136 according to the wiki. With revision 174, it does not work on my Wii. I noted this earlier in the thread. So I wanted to try the earlier revision to see if that rectifies the problem. I have a similar problem with Wario World (PAL), but this...

Re: Swiss 0.3

I feel like I'm being ignored. Does anyone know where I can get revision 136? It had to have been offered for download at one point as most of the games on the wiki were tested with it.

Re: Swiss 0.3

According to the wiki, Super Smash Bros. Melee works fine with revision 136, though you must choose 60Hz mode. I tried the game yesterday with revision 174 and it never asked me which refresh rate I wanted the game to use, and proceeded to render in clipped 480p. Aside: Is that called imaginary 576i...

No, 576i@60hz :(.
Wrong. PAL60 is PAL video but with NTSC frame rate and resolution.

Re: Wii Component Cables

The Wii hardware is used to run GameCube games, and there's nothing special about the GameCube video and audio signals that would require a special cable for 480p video. You can use the Wii component cable with GameCube games just fine. Most WiiWare games support progressive scan, just like most Wii...

Re: New Wii loses backwards compatibility

Yes, and they did the same move with the GameCube then by removing the digital port. I don't think it's quite the same thing as it was early in the GameCube's life and the digital port saw very little use (in part thanks to Nintendo hoarding the required cable...). I totally hate Nintendo for that....

Re: Swiss 0.3

Thank you for this tool, emu_kidid! It's like a gift from heaven as forcing progressive scan mode seemed only possible through the use of a modchip. This tool is particularly useful for me because I have a VGA cable for my Wii that only supports progressive scan, hence it allows me to play my GameCu...
