Re: Swiss Nightly Build

Nope, audio streaming is still broken.

Mega Man X Collection still displays on half of the screen, but now it's at least centered vertically.

Animal Crossing still crashes on startup with a green screen when I force 480p, which is weird considering that the wiki says it should work.

Re: Swiss Nightly Build

Going to try r261 to see if it fixes audio streaming on the Wii, as I got a couple games recently that use it. The games freeze with "an error has occurred".

Re: Bought MK8, what FREE game should I get?

Two games in the list you already own, and one you're not interested in. Seems like a no-brainer to me! A digital copy might be convenient, but you have to download that, which can take a long time, and it will take up space that could be used by other digital games. And hey, you already own those, ...

RGB Scart might help, but it's probably your TV's crappy upscaling at work. Try a CRT TV.

Re: VGA Component Cable

No, but would you consider it wrong? No, I don't think so. Imagine not being legally allowed to backup your own harddisk, that's just as wrong. I don't see how that's related. In ten years gamecube is probably as retro as nintendo 64 and nobody gives two flying fucks if you pirate or not since you ...

Re: VGA Component Cable

Backup != piracy. "backup" is what many software authors use in this context to not outright admit that its purpose is piracy. 99% of the users also use it as such. I lost my MKDD disc, but I had a backup. Is that piracy, or just being careful? (Note I did not sell it, I actually believe it has bee...

Is it? That makes it sound like it was created to play pirated games. I'd say it's a very versatile GameCube software launcher.

Extrems gave me an alternative Wii Swiss Booter when I wasn't able to get 576p to work. Maybe it'll work for you. I don't know if Extrems would mind me passing it along.

PriiLoader is useful for at least one thing: automatically skipping the health warning screen. Whether the rest is useful depends on your usage patterns.

Re: Hack 480p support into Mega Man 9/10

USBLoader GX is where it's at (though you have to track down a newer revision than the one offered on the official page). While I still didn't have any luck with Mega Man 9, it forced Sakura Wars to 480p successfully, and I've been playing it with no issues. Awesome!

Re: Hack 480p support into Mega Man 9/10

I followed the instructions exactly at the time, so I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong. At any rate, turns out that the latest installer doesn't need IOS 236. Installed d2x in slot 249 with 56 as the base. I tried both Wiiflow and Configurable USB Loader, loaders said to be able to successfu...

Re: Hack 480p support into Mega Man 9/10

Now I remember what a pain these cIOSs were. You can't just install IOS249 or any of its variants. You have to install IOS236 first, which was a pain and is likely what made my Wii unstable.

You would have to add me to the list too because I have to agree with what he's saying. Lets not overcomplicate things. Agreeing with him does not mean you should be on my ignore list. As they say, it's not what you say, it's how you say it. This isn't an isolated case, either. His attitude towards...

Mega Man X Collection outputs its games in 240p60, I think, but it only takes up half the screen when the collection is forced to use 480p. I wonder if there's an option of a line doubler that could be exposed in Swiss.

Re: YAGCD - Yet Another Gamecube Documentation

archive.org actually uses automatic web crawling to build their web archive. No actual users are involved.

Definitely a valuable resource, but a live website is preferable because it's generally faster and doesn't have any of that archive.org cruft that they put on every page.

Why is that ?
Because of its strong link to piracy.
