Re: Discs getting scratched

Thanks for answering! That's the weirdest part, I've worked on dozens of gamecube and have never seen anything like it. I even put a disc on the spindle and pushed down hard on the disc edge while manually rotating it. No contact at all. I'm at a loss ... it does play the discs, but puts more and m...

Re: Help to run burned games on my GameCube modded with Xeno

Update: with the pot 30 ohm, almost all my burned games are being recognized on the menu. When I start them, the laser goes crazy going up and down quickly, and then it stops appearing the error message You'll either need better media or a new laser. If the laser is still happy to read originals th...

Re: Discs getting scratched

The clicking noise might just be the laser moving along the rails to hit the start/end. Can it still read discs?

I'd take the GameCube apart and see if the discs sit evenly on the spindle

Sounds like the ARAM might be having issues. Ideally try to run a backup of the service disk if nothing looks obviously wrong around the high speed port area

Re: GameCube laser keeps clicking and doesn't read the discs

I bought a new cube and a new laser. I changed the laser and soldered the xeno chip on the new cube. It reads the original discs instantly, but it keeps trying to read the burned discs without success. I started the cube pressing the start button and the Xeno page loaded and worked perfectly. I tri...

Try removing your swiss.ini from your save device and see if that fixes it. You may have saved a weird video mode for Swiss that the HDMI adaptor doesn't support.

Yeah, the datel adaptor is trash + you're adding in another level of connection by using a microSD adaptor. Try a different (full size) card + adaptor.

Re: Blank screen on Gamecube but not Wii

Hi! I just purchased an older game - Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights - off of ebay, and it seems to not be working on my gamecube. The system boots up just fine, and when I go to the menu it recognizes the game for what it is. However, when I attempt to start the game, all I get is a black screen ...

I knew about gdrom emu and vga-adapter/mod, but whats the point of the pico-psu exactly? more stable than stock?
Yes, the gdemu draws more power causing extra heat from the stock PSU. I used to have random reboots with the stock PSU as well and those are now gone too.

Re: Snes9x GX 4.3.7 for game cube ?

Seems like I don't need to make builds anymore unless if they screw up GameCube support again Please do not stop. This version has a serious problem with the sound when it uses the fast forward too much. You would not let that happen... Best version so far: https://github.com/emukidid/snes9xgx/rele...

If they aren't aligned you'll hear garbage. Programs like fstfix were made to fix this but I believe they bring the ISO back up to full size to achieve the alignment.

Don't use thermal paste in the gamecube, the gap between the chips and the heatsink is way too big. You need thermal pads, 1.5 to 2mm thick if I recall correctly.
I've seen it done but yeah, the risk is too great that it won't touch the heatsink or will heat up and puddle out or dry over time.

GCMUtil 0.5 is OK for most things but don't try it on Mario Baseball or any Audio Streaming enabled game.

Re: the most recomended way to shrink games?

I second what Streetwalker has said. There are many shrinking tools out there and there may be one that is 100% compatible with all games but the risk just isn't worth it. If a file hasn't been aligned properly or if a game is specifically checking for a particular file at a particular offset (they ...
