Re: can I use wii without wiimote using gc controller?
You should really keep one wiimote.
Some games and homebrew are wiimote only.

Re: question about s-video
10$ wii 25$ WKF 3$ cable Do your research, you will see this should be about the correct prices to expect A Wii for $10? I must be misunderstanding that line. But what could I sell a modded (xenoGC) for? And I'd have to sell it on a forum (here perhaps) most likely? Well I got a couple of wii units...

Without spending sums of money looks like your stuck with the bottom of the pile composite.
Or get a GC capable wii and a $3 component cable as someone suggested before.

May you please share download link for Retroarch 0.9.9? Link was posted previous page - scroll down for GC or wii RetroArch. http://forum.themaister.net/viewtopic.php?id=347 btw. It would be cool if someone can make a series of how-tos about compiling stuff for gamecube under Windows and Linux. +1

Re: Cave Story GC - general discussion
Yeah the NX Engine from the newest GameCube RetroArch 0.9.9 works.
It takes 72 seconds to start the Doukuto.exe
The wii version takes 15 seconds.
I tried bearteams .dol and that does not start.

Re: How to run backup games on unmodded gc?
^
Because 60Hz NTSC fills all the screen with 480 lines of video whilst 50Hz PAL displays those same 480 lines plus the addiontional 96 lines of the PAL format making up the black borders.
60Hz PAL is actually 480 lines just like NTSC but with the PAL colour coding.

Now all I need is the mod chip and a GameCube! I know this website promotes GameCube foremost but would it have not been much easier and cheaper to get old style wii as that would allow you to use GC Booter - Swiss Booter - Devolution - Dios Mios and super easy soft modding of the hardware with Mod...
