Re: Gamecube component cable
You're talking about the LMH1980/1981. Anyways, I tried what you described above some time ago, but unfortunately none of my monitors seem to accept 15kHz :( And no luck finding a MultiSync either -.- Then the next problem: if video display is then changed to 31khz, GC stops output of composite sign...

Re: Gamecube component cable
You could also get RGB and sync from the GC and someway convert the 15kHz sync to 31kHz so it works with most monitors, or find a multisync monitor that accepts the 15kHz sync signal as-is. Google LM1881 if you're interested, and you'll find more info.
Re: Swiss 0.3
If the sense pin connected to 3.3V, the GC thinks that something is connected, but doesn't know what, so an error pops out. Even if those aren't shorted but DO is connected to something, an error message is shown again. About this "loading from slot X", just remove SDGecko and plug it back...

Re: WiiKey (NOT Fusion) in a GameCube, Is it possible?
Hmm...it seems to work fine on winXP sp3 x86...
(shoutout to my mom's PIII laptop
)
But I just remembered that I've loaded some weird h4xx0r parallel port drivers to make my willem board work.
Maybe that's the problem.
Can't be sure though.

Re: WiiKey (NOT Fusion) in a GameCube, Is it possible?
Dunno about the rest of you, but that parallel programmer didn't work for me. Maybe something related to x64 windows/parallel port drivers and/or avrdude? (ye I know, it's windows :D) I ended up buying a usb programmer called USBasp from eBay. More info and progs here http://www.fischl.de/usbasp/ . ...

Who knows, maybe they'll spank Nintendo too for making a device like that for their own consoles.

Disclaimer:
I have no idea about wiikey stuff.
But if something powers down when you try to connect voltage related stuff, probably means that you've shorted something somewhere.

Re: Homemade XenoGC Clone questions
I got a Willem programmer some months ago. Around 25 euros. Probably a not -so- good choice, as you can get a cheap ass USB programmer with some euros more, and the difference is amazing. Solely the USB is worth it XD You can't imagine the horrors of LPT1 :| At least it programs PICs too, not only E...

Re: Homemade XenoGC Clone questions
And don't forget to wire RST to GND so the chip can enter programming state. You could connect a simple on-off switch before the resistor that goes from RST to Vcc. When the switch is ON, then the RST will be connected directly to ground so you will be able to program the chip. When the switch is OF...

If I had to guess I'd say it's just your 6 normal ISP pins and the rest are NCs or GND.

Optical drive dead :<
It was all fun and games, till I managed to screw my drive motor while toying with a homenade xenogc. The laser and its driver seem to be ok for now, as its movements and sounds are familiar. But the motor refuses to spin. :( Tried removing, swapping the drivechip with one that worked for sure, repl...

Then it's the pot. Just google around and you'll find tuts... like this one http://128bit.me/index.php?topic=26113.0 Just to be sure, clean the lens very carefully with a q-tip and some alcohol, and try a backup again. Messing with the laser's power isn't that dangerous, but doing what we can to hel...

Do the leds light up?
Pressing start while booting takes you to the shell?
Did you adjust the pot?
Describe what happens step by step.

About that adapter, there's this alternative. http://code.google.com/p/cube64-dx/ Maybe make both and compare them? :P I've been curious to try Raphael's for some time, but unfortunately I still haven't found any ATmegas lying around here (so no 2nd xeno for me yet :<). edit: I just remembered that ...

Re: Refresh plastics *RetroBrite*
I was at the super market today and I remembered the retrobrite project for some reason. I did try to make the original one some time ago, but I couldn't find cheap and small quantities of hydrogen peroxide. So I bought this on impulse: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/1867/img0541iu.jpg And its ingre...

Originally I downloaded only the Lab Tools (iMPACT). But if you read my other posts here you'll see I had (more like I still have :P) some problems, so I ended up downloading the whole package -.- (the really big one). Then you'll need to update the project with the new .ucf and then flash that to t...

Re: Homebrew HDD adapter for Gamecube Tutorial
Inside gcide.zip you'll find a file named gc_ide.ucf, and some other .ucf(s) too. Open it with notepad++ or sth (normal notepad works too), and check with a multimeter if the pins designated by the schematic are indeed connected in the pcb. If not, you can just reassign them: example: NET "exi_...
