Re: Disc drive sometimes stuck in reset loop
The disc drive should reset the laser assembly to the inner most part twice when Swiss boots up. Once to reset the drive, another time to prepare it for patching if it's trying to detect a disc. Are you attempting to set a default device/directory as the DVD directory in Swiss? What does your recent...

Re: Weird GameCube Power Issue
I've had a GameCube do this but it was a picoboot install and someone had installed one of the wires in between the shielding so it was partially pinched and depending on how hard you'd screw the shell together it would boot lol

Wrong region of disc for the system? What portion of the drive did you swap exactly?

Re: Help with .DOL file
It likely expects an SD card in one of the front memory card ports with files in a specific location. Send a link to the DOL and perhaps we can peek inside to see if it has any references to file locations.

Re: Motherboard repair attempt - No video
since you were messing around near the MX chip to install picoboot, my guess would be that you've bridged a pin there or on the SP1 connector, triple check everything for shorts between pins. Lately I've found that the digital port can be prone to dust binding onto it if it's never been used, especi...

Re: Bought a dead GC and trying to diagnose it's problem. I'm stumped
Check around the MX chip, if you're not getting any DVD reset then the IPL isn't booting. Try installing a picoboot if you can to see if that helps it progress any further.

I'd honestly suggest using a Wii, you probably won't want to wear out the laser in the GameCube. On a Wii it takes between 9-11 minutes per disc.

Re: Submit Compatibility Issues Here
It's because Xeno Crisis doesn't use the official SDK and instead uses libOGC2. Perhaps they might release an updated version to fix these issues themselves?
Re: Viper GC
Those drive date versions of the Cobra BIOS are for alternative drive patches to be used within the Cobra BIOS, I don't think I've personally ever tried them. It's likely the reason why it's no longer reading DVD's sadly. What you should do is remove the ViperGC at this point and put it aside. Look ...

Re: Cobra Menu freezes
Can you post a video? It sounds like the DVD drive has potentially gone bad, or the lid switch override wires have broken off?
You're probably better off using picoboot+SD2SP2 and selling the ViperGC (especially if it's an Extreme).

Re: Possible to add auto disc game launching?
This is a good idea and I can probably add a special caveat to the logic or a prompt for DVD when setting auto-load on it since it doesn't make sense to remember a specific disc as autoload.

Re: blank screen on booting swiss
What version of Swiss is this, latest? I don't think there'd be many people still testing the discs with a XenoGC so it's possible something is broken. On your SD2SP2 do you see Swiss creating a "swiss" directory on root at all? (Just curious if video output is broken).

The .skp files are only necessary for Datel/Unlicensed discs. Ignore these, if they're being created even though you've not selected "no" to the unlicensed question, I'll fix this in a future release.

Re: Wiikey Fusion / Qoob Pro / SD2SP2 / Picoboot / Kunai Advantages / Disadvantages
While the WKF is a disc drive replacement, it's also unmaintained/closed off/older hardware and it can only support up to a 64GB card (larger cards will show up but can't read beyond 64GB). Speed wise it'd be better than SD2SP2 for sure, but only move to picoboot/SD2SP2 if you can cleanly remove the...

Check that the SD2SP2 doesn't have a loose connection, make sure the slot is clean too. Try another SD card too if you can.

Dark spots are usually where the laser failed to write to (or written but not as well), are you verifying in IMGBurn or whatever to make sure the data has been written properly? Try a lower speed too.

Re: Need help modding
Use picoboot. You can restore SP2 or just get a memory card slot based SD reader.
There's even kits out there to restore the digital out port on this model if you wish to do so.

Added support for your use case, you should be able to copy swiss.dol from SD card or DVD/etc to the Qoob Flash: https://github.com/emukidid/swiss-gc/issues/393
Re: Qoob Chip
I've replied here: https://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewt ... 780#p51780 - I'll add write support so you can copy/paste the latest DOL into it from a disc or SD adapter.
