Re: backup games on gamecube won't load
I forgot to mention that I live in Denmark so it's a PAL system I'm using if that makes any difference It doesn't. Swiss reads the disc and I hear that it spins.. and stops... spins.. and stops, the third time it sounds like it's gong to work butt then I hear some clicking sounds and then it stops ...

Re: Internal Clock only records time progression when powered on
That's also what I'm thinking, but as far as I know, the SDK doesn't update the RTC unless you change the date in the IPL, but his clock doesn't roll back after a power cycle, so the problem sounds more complex than that. I would inspect the mainboard for damage, especially around the MX chip and it...

Re: Updating Pluto-IIx firmware to GCVideo 2.4b
I don't know. It depends whether the serial board provides power to the FPGA or not. Try with the GC off first, and if it doesn't work, turn it on.

Re: backup games on gamecube won't load
There are newer release of Swiss now, but I don't think they'll help, this is recent enough. You really shouldn't use GCOS, it's old and terrible.

Re: Updating Pluto-IIx firmware to GCVideo 2.4b
You can leave the board in the system. There should be a flashing tool from KNJN to reprogram the flash chip with the files from the gcvideo repo.

Re: backup games on gamecube won't load
Alright, so you're using Swiss to boot your disc then? Which version?
Like I said you'll probably have to try different discs (Ritek G04's are the ones people have had the most success with), a different burner, or buy a new laser.

It's an option in the settings, not the device selection screen.

Did you set the default device properly? That's stored in SRAM on the console itself.

Some wasps just do that. Before this was added, they were plain unusable (they would hang indefinitely). If should be possible to automate the retry though.

I know emu_kidid sometimes works on wode support but he probably doesn't test it as much as the rest so it's possible that it was broken at some point.

Re: backup games on gamecube won't load
That's pretty much it yeah. Discs, burner, software and settings all have an effect on the outcome, and then there's laser lottery. Just to make sure, you are using a modchip right?
Re: gc sd
You can use the xeno to boot a swiss disc. Don't bother with diy, just buy an adapter, they're like $2 a piece.
Re: gc sd
That's not gonna happen. Your options are XenoGC, SDML/Action Replay, or a game exploit (needs a supported game and a homebrew-capable console to install the hacked save to your memory card).
Once you have that, you can use Swiss and an SD adapter to load your games.

The SD card. Swiss saves its settings into a swiss.ini on the default device. The default device is saved in SRAM (in the console itself, with other system settings).

Re: Thermal pads replacement for gamecube
The power brick is rated at 39W but that's because it needs to account for the GBP + BBA + controllers + whatever other peripherals simultaneously. 15W is the ballpark portabilizers have measured. Don't bother with that anyway, the CPU and GPU are very low power by modern standards. Paste is terribl...

Re: Thermal pads replacement for gamecube
The GameCube is a 15W system, the only reason why it needs a fan at all is the poor internal airflow. Don't waste your money on memes. 1.5mm should be fine.

Try setting the default device. If that doesn't work, it could be a new regression.

Use thermal pads of the right thickness, never paste. I doubt you'll find graphite pads thick enough, and it's really not necessary anyway. The stock stuff is perfectly fine.

The file name must be lowercase. FAT32 and exFAT are supported (not in most homebrew besides Swiss though).
The normal way is you download the official update from the Qoob thread and read that magical file called readme.

Re: Qoob SX Problem
iplboot will reset into the original bios if it can't find an SD card with ipl.dol on it.
If you want to flash the original BIOS, you can do it the normal way, read the document that comes with the updater for more information.
