Re: “An error has occurred” at random
I've replaced many lasers over the years and typically in the units where replacing the laser has outright failed even with the new one, it's typically due to also needing to replace the capacitors on the DVD PCB as well (then it comes right back to life, most of the time with the old laser). On uni...

Re: Swiss on Wii Modchips?
Wiikey2 is a drive chip that injects code to allow backup discs to be accepted, so no, this won't work.

Yeah, I'd like to make a resource bundle system and put it into Swiss, would make translating much easier.

Re: XenoGC and swiss disc
Do original discs work? Do out of region original discs work? Does a original game not boot if you hold Start on controller 1 for about a half a minute from boot (enough to get it past the bios), if so, this is the xeno trying to either show you the credits screen or the multigame menu, again meanin...

Re: Cleanrip seems to have destroyed my memory stick
Firstly, finally my disclaimer screen has paid off! Jokes aside, perhaps that SD card was near the end of its life and putting it under the stress of writing several gigabytes sent it over the edge. What type/size was it? Perhaps it was never tested to its full capacity and it's one of those types t...

Replace capacitors on one, as these drives sit above the heatsink the capacitors can get toasty and have a shorter life span. console5.com sell a kit for the disc drive.

What tools are you using? tgc2gcm etc? These are the only ones I know of and I'd be surprised if it was always making a full sized tgc from a shrunk gcm

Re: Gamecube not working
Someone might notice a pattern, e.g. type of texture going bad here and know what it could be. Can you try running Swiss on it to see how that looks to give us a rough guide of what's going wrong? If you boot Swiss and all fonts look garbled then maybe there a problem with the MX chip or connections...

I'm yet to try it myself, but you shouldn't need the SD2SP2 as a config device any longer.

if you boot it straight through as boot.iso how does it perform? Make sure you're using the latest Swiss version and if it's still an issue (only through Swiss), you might want to raise a issue on our github tracker

Curious about this F-Zero-AX too, is it a Triforce hacked rom, or the GC hacked one? Has somebody "converted" a homebrew .dol to fake GC ISO so that you can have custom icon for that specific homebrew? That would be nice as long as SWISS doesn't support custom .dol icons (or does it alrea...

Re: How do I use SNES/NES/SEGA emulators with SD2SP2?
Okay, something might be up with your SD2SP2 and/or the SD card you're using then. You should be able to typically just extract the release from something like FCEU-GX straight to the root of your SD card and you'll have the structure setup properly. These emulators also typically set up the folder ...

Oh, you're probably using exFAT, these emulators only support FAT32. Swiss supports exFAT which is what might be confusing you.

Hmm, where are you downloading these from? You're potentially not using the latest versions or your ROMs etc aren't in the correct folders?

Just use whatever device is fastest for you and the less you change settings the faster it is, cause it'll verify that it doesn't need to write changes.

Re: GCoS v1.4 option to boot from SD
You will likely need to have a 2GB or less SD card and then set it up for SDLoad, there's a recent thread about it. To be honest I'd just put something else on the Viper rather than bother with this.
