Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Got the rest of the back half of the case sculpting done last night. This part s around the shoulder buttons were especially a pain in the ass: https://www.gc-forever.com/mega/Ashen/FusionRev4/IMG_1105_zps96d8d7d0.jpg https://www.gc-forever.com/mega/Ashen/FusionRev4/IMG_1106_zps5ea8868d.jpg Added so...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Been a bit since an update. Though if you watched the stream yesterday you've already seen some of this. ;) After waiting 18+hrs for the second pour of silicone on the front case half to cure I de-boxed the whole thing and pried the two parts of the mold apart and removed the original. Then I procee...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Last night I re-boxed up the front case half, sealed off all the seams and painted all the exposed silicone with a thin layer of petroleum jelly: https://www.gc-forever.com/mega/Ashen/FusionRev4/IMG_1083_zps508c4759.jpg Mixed up a pretty large batch of silicone and poured it all in: https://www.gc-f...

I've gotten everything all sculpted in the front of the case like I wanted, This should sturdy things up a good deal: https://www.gc-forever.com/mega/Ashen/FusionRev4/IMG_1080_zpsb58427bc.jpg Then added a crapton of vents and two pour spouts: https://www.gc-forever.com/mega/Ashen/FusionRev4/IMG_1081...

Re: Emulatemii blog inoperative

That's exactly what I suggest. Get over it, move on with your life. Find something constructive to do. Or hey, go buy a real N64/PSX and an Everdrive/64Drive. Or you know, even some real games. Then play them perfectly, with no bugs or glitches to complain about.

Re: Emulatemii blog inoperative

All you'd get is people bitching about Wii64 and WiiSX being dead. Can't say as I blame them though, as I too would like to believe that there will be a new release before the end of 2014. My  was in reference to this specifically, and the fact that you're quite obviously The Randomizer. Seri...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Last night I came home from work and got the back half of the case all taped off and boxed in and poured it the same way I did the front half of the case. I didn't really take and pictures or anything because its pretty much the same process I outlined yesterday and showed for the front case half. T...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Got the two case halves all primed and clear coated and ready for some silicone sexual adventures. I got a little ahead of myself here and already had the front hot glued to a piece of posterboard and had already added the "guide pins" to the front half poster board. Here are the two halve...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Thanks man! This was the easy part though, we'll have to see how the rest of the case goes... I have a feeling the thin walls of the case are not going to be fun. Gonna be abit though until we find out. I just first coat primed both halves of the case. So far its looking good. :D

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Got home tonight and de-boxed the whole shoulder button mold and pried apart the silicone. Even with the petroleum jelly layer on there it was still kinda tough to pull em apart. Everything went well though and this is what I've made: https://www.gc-forever.com/mega/Ashen/FusionRev4/IMG_1058_zpsa7a6...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Yea, Dilav's got it. I'll go into more detail about this/show it better later on. Came home from work last night and de-boxed my shoulder buttons mold. I carefully cut all the tape at the seams and pulled the foam board apart: https://www.gc-forever.com/mega/Ashen/FusionRev4/IMG_1050_zpse3aa30c6.jpg...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

After priming, sanding and clear coating the shoulder buttons they were finally ready to go. I super glued a piece of polystyrene in between both buttons to act as a pour channel or "runner" if you want to get technical. I also taped off the hole from the inside for the z button: https://w...

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Making some progress on getting the case done, almost there. Front is pretty much done. As you can see I've kept things simple for this, no extravagant tiny holes for speakers or such as it would be a nightmare to replicate with the silicone/casting that I'll be doing. I have to pay special attentio...

I was just thinking about something like this. Awesome! This will be great for testing new features or potentially finding stuff that may have "broke" from build to build quickly. Thanks to everyone involved!

Re: GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

Progress! Just a little. Alright, so I've been getting some casework done. As promised, I'm gonna try to cover every detail of how I do stuff. I started with the back of the case and worked on the shoulder buttons first. Now, when I'm fixing to make holes into my nice new formed case you might think...

Re: Gamecube powering off randomly

Yep, sounds like its overheating to the point where the thermal protection circuit is kicking in. I'd pull it apart and check the thermal pads between the heatsink and procs. It could also be a failing A/C adapter.

GameCube Fusion, rev 4. (worklog)

I know, I know.. I know what you're thinking: "Godammit Ashen, are you ever going to finish anything else other than 100 stupid GDMF GCp's?" To which I have to say: "Well yes, eventually. What can I say? I love the GameCube." So now that that's out of the way, on to business. Thi...

I love it when these threads pop up, so I'll break it all down for everyone for the umpteenth million time. This is not an attack on the OP. As hads been said he can charge what he likes. But I hate it when people think the price most modders ask is ridiculous. So, here are the basic costs you will ...

Yes, its actually a PTH08080 though. Make sure you run the "1.9v" reg at 1.65-1.7v. it'll net you a substantial increase in battery life.

Re: Power Supply For Portable Gamecube

If you have an official looking email address (not gmail, hotmail, etc) you can register on TI.com and have them send you free samples of the regulators you need. Other than the regulators, all that is needed is a couple of resistors and capacitors. If that's not an option you can try either Mouser ...
