Re: The Definitive DI / DVD Interface Thread
BRK is signalled to the drive on error I.e. when it takes too long to respond. It's meant to cancel the current operation.

Re: Testers wanted (Descent for GC)
I will be away for a while so here is the current wii build for testing: http://www.tueidj.net/descent.dol
Requires descent.pig and descent.hog to be in /apps/descent like the old build.

Your router is obviously not good enough.
I am using a cisco EA4500.

Re: The Definitive DI / DVD Interface Thread
The clock can be 32KHz rather than 48KHz (although no commercial games use it), it's definitely controlled by the cube.

You don't learn by compiling, you learn by looking at the code.

Checkout the source code using SVN, don't download it as a .zip...
Otherwise if someone can't figure out how to manually apply a patch they probably shouldn't be bothering to compile it themselves.

"Direct" means A=A, B=B etc., the XBOX controller has its buttons labelled ass-backwards compared to most ABXY pads so that would be why.

Re: Change Games Video Output Resolution?
You can't do any drawing in that mode though, it's designed for video playback so it's pretty useless for games.

Re: Change Games Video Output Resolution?
Devolution already adjusts the horizontal scaling to fit screens better. Changing the vertical scaling requires more memory which isn't always feasible.
The internal framebuffer has a maximum size of 640x528, so forget any ideas about increasing it.

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
How can the hardware that creates the video signal (the encoder) have lag? It makes no sense. How can it not have lag? We live in a universe with a finite speed of light, so even a simple cable has to have lag. The interesting question is not "does it have lag", but "is the lag at an...

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
Well no, it performs a digital-to-analog conversion at the rate of the pixel clock e.g. 27 or 54MHz. That's as theoretically fast as the analog signal can be produced.ShockSlayer wrote:as I'd assume the conversion there isn't instant.

Re: Cloning the GameCube component cable
The hardware in the GC and Wii is practically identical in terms of speed. Physically they're a little bit different because the wii has an internal (3-in-1) encoder instead of requiring an overpriced cable.

Might have a reason to finish this off very soon: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/revivalprod/overload-the-ultimate-six-degree-of-freedom-shoote I really want to see this kickstarter succeed but it's not looking good. If I released this port with a splash screen it might get at least a couple m...

You can use DNS redirection and/or a http proxy to redirect the default page to Google... it's a pretty outdated browser though.

Re: DVD Drive IO voltage
What is strange though is when the memory card transmits the exi-id on command 0x0000, the card responds with 4 bytes of data, first three bytes are 0x00, and the last byte 0x20. The card is a memory card 251 and should respond with 0x10 in that byte according to all sources of information that I h...

Re: Wiimc
The unsupported model check isn't always correct either, it's a best guess. If your wii was made in 2009 or later (even if it's white) there's a good chance it's not compatible.

Re: DVD Drive IO voltage
I have a feeling the write/erase timeout is 10ms but I'm not positive. It's a fixed value in the SDK. It's generally not a good idea to signal interrupts immediately, some poorly written code expects a delay to be present e.g. setting up callback parameters after sending the request that will trigge...

Re: DVD Drive IO voltage
Minor details first: - sectors are always 8192 bytes. Technically they can vary, but in practice that is the only value ever used. - the EXI bus should always be 16MHz for talking to memcards - different cards can have different "latencies", which allows them to specify an amount of dummy ...
