Re: Gamecube Component Cable
Nintendo used the same AV out connector on the SNES, the N64 and the Gamecube. This means that an RGB SCART cable for the SNES also works on the Gamecube. Well, in theory at least, since the consoles still have to output the signal themselves (the PAL N64 lacked RGB altogether, for example). On the ...

Since he made this way back in 2007 and hasn't touched it since, I think it's fairly safe to assume it does not support IDE-EXI.

Re: SDLoad (Slot A and B)
Is Costis still around anymore? The last thing I recall was him trying to get a GameCube development community going (come to think of it, somewhat similar to what we have here). Maybe we could get him to release the source to SDLoad at some point?

Re: nintendo shouldd buy rare back!
im done with supporting nintendo because they aint buying rare back! also because nintendo still has 90s graphics! xbox and ps3 here i come! The only thing that should matter when buying a console are the games. What good are great graphics when you don't like the games themselves to begin with? Wh...

Re: European webstore opens!
Would it be possible to pay using wire transfer? You'd have to provide an IBAN and BIC number for that. I see the option is available if you select 'Germany' as your country when paying, but that requires a BLZ number, which is exclusive to Germany (and thus not an option, since I live in Belgium).

Re: nintendo shouldd buy rare back!
Rare as we used to know it throughout the 90's is gone forever, simple as that. Nintendo buying it back wouldn't change a thing.

Re: PS3 Hackable?
I've been wondering why they even need a CFW? I thought having the private keys meant we could run anything, as long as it's signed. I'm guessing it's for piracy?

Re: A First Start to Computer Programming
I'd say that's a bad way to start off. You need to know the language before you can read a book written in it. Same thing with programming. If you don't know the programming language yet, the source will be mostly meaningless to you. Especially with rather big projects like the ones you've mentioned...

Re: A First Start to Computer Programming
The language you start with doesn't really matter all that much. Your first challenge isn't learning a specific language, but learning how to program in general. I tried starting with C++, but I found that a bit too confusing, so I switched over to C and I found that to be a lot easier to grasp as a...

The newest release of libogc claims to have USB compatibility improvements, so maybe compiling CleanRip with the newest version could help.

If that's the version I think it is, it's very outdated at this point. You're better of getting a more recent SVN version.

Re: CleanRip v1.0.4
Just tried ripping Okami for a change using only my 2GB flash drive, but still zero successful rips so far. I used 1GB chunks and the first chunk seemed to be okay. After moving the files off the drive, I reinserted it for the second chunk. After the second chunk was done, the files I deleted from t...

Re: CleanRip v1.0.4
Still haven't been able to rip a single Wii game successfully. I'm starting to suspect the libogc FAT32 library is just incredibly buggy/picky about what media you use. I've tried again using the front SD slot with a 4GB Micro SD card, but no luck. I gave up when I saw the speeds drop to 250KB/s. D...

Re: 16MB Wii Memory Card
I would personally stay away from third party memory cards altogether, as they are generally of poor quality and very prone to data loss/corruption. There probably are exceptions to this, but I just wouldn't bother. The biggest official GameCube memory card had 1019 blocks (8MB or 64MBit), and even ...

Re: CleanRip v1.0.3
You just need the appropriate gc.dat and wii.dat files on the first volume you plug in the Wii. The program then loads these files and calculates the different hashes while dumping the game. When the dumping process is done, it can immediately tell you if the hashes match to the ones in the files. Y...

Re: CleanRip v1.0.3
I've tried several times now, but there never are files on the second flash drive. I'm trying to rip Super Mario Galaxy 2 in 3GB chunks using a 4GB and a 2GB flash drive (shouldn't matter, since the second chunk won't exceed the flash drive's size). Everything's formatted in FAT32. Maybe adding an a...
