I'll have a look at neocd-redux at some point soon.
Did you have some time to take a look at it, emu_kidid?

What is the status of Hu-Go GX in 2020? Playable on Gamecube? Functional? Still being developed?

EDIT: I have now tried this out for myself. Sorry guys for anybody who worked on this, but I was not impressed. It's nowhere near up to the standard of emulators like SNES 9x Rx, etc. Not really useable in my opinion. And for whatever reason I couldn't get it to display in 240p at all, it was stuck on interlaced only.

EDIT II: Sorry, I should have read all the previous posts more carefully. I was apparently not using the latest released version. So I'll check this out again and see if I can figure out the menus to get 240p working. It's a real bummer that I can't customize the button layout since I'm using an SNES controller. I'll see what I can do to make it more playable.

EDIT III: I just tried the latest version and it's minimal to no improvement as far as I can tell. I did discover that for 240p you have to set the video to PAL60, which is bizarre.

You are comparing an emulator last updated officially 12 long years ago, to others actively developed in 2020... no surprises there.

If you are in need for a Turbografx CD fix on the Gamecube, i suggest you to use older versions of Retroarch, namely between 0.9.8 or 1.0.0.2. If you wonder why not using the most recent one, is because of a long standing bug in the CD audio, causing it to sound like annoying white noise. If you need it for plain Turbografx-16 only, then whichever stable version works for you would be fine.

Is there a tutorial online anywhere for how to install Retroarch for GCN? Right now I'm just using the original Action Replay with an SD card and the loader hack.

Just put the retroarch folder at the root of your SD card, and you're almost set up, unless it needs to be launched from SWISS.
As long as there don't seem to be somewhere to download the older versions from, we have to just wish someone will fix the latest releases, as they have been somehow broken for quite long.
Have a Look there, but we are stalled as I don't see that much mentions of Gamecube in the changelog, and didn't try the last releases to see if the changes to Wii will affect the GC build too.
