Snes9x 1.43 - GX Edition 0.1.1beta

Hey guys,
I've spent some time today testing Snes emulators on Gamecube and this particular one runs Yoshi's Island really well.
In fact, better than Snes9x_GX_009-GC which was running faster at times but the frame skip seems much higher.

Only bad thing about this version is that there seems to be a bug in saving SRAM to memory card or sd card. Since I didn't have any newer versions I played around and it appears that to save SRAM on the memory card I need to pick SD card, and vice versa.
State manager doesn't have this problem.

Has anyone else had time to test this particular version? It's the one with spinning Mario Kart in mode 7.

Thanks megalomaniac :)

Yoshi's Island runs on all Snes emulators but still runs best on 0.1.1b or maybe I'm just used to that one.

How the hell do you go back to the main menu in snes next? :P

Please provide me like to this version that has that spinning Mario Kart in mode 7 in menu.

It was the fastest SNES emu on gc for me, and i cannot find it now; all these GX versions just run low to me, whenever i see this kind of menu i'm scared.

I ended up using Snes9x 0.1.1b in the end
It runs Yoshi's Island wide screen which is probably why I noticed some minor anomalies but still better than anything else

Have to work out what to play next now

Just to confirm this version does save to both SD and Memory Card, but I have had problems with freeze states where it reports Memory Card is full even when it's not. So freeze states worked for me but not all the time.

To save to SD card slot B, you will need to pick Memory Card Slot B
To save to Memory Card slot A, you will need to pick SD Card Slot A

Loading works fine, for SD slot A pick SD slot A :)

I've attached an SRAM if anyone wants to test out the game. Unlike other emulators this one uses the CRC32 to name the SRAM file, in this case Yoshi's Island is 07E01EF9.SRM

It needs to be copied to SD:/snes9x/saves

Suggestion with SNES emulator

Hey guys. I've been testing this snes emulator for a few days (http://code.google.com/p/snes9xgx143/). I noticed that it emulates very well in the Gamecube. So why not make a new emulator with all the functions of (http://code.google.com/p/snes9x-gx/) and the base (http://code.google.com/p/snes9xgx143/ ). At least we will have at the end of an emulator with all speed. This snes9xgx based 1.53 is too slow, it is impossible to play Yoshi's Island it. Already with the base 1.43 the game runs perfectly. I used the Yoshi's Island as an example, because there is other games that go through this problem. Sorry about the English translated into Google. I live in Brazil and I do not speak English.

^ I second this.

Is there any previous version of Snes9xgx that has the speed of v0.1.1 and an interface similar to the latest release?

This to me is the best snes emulator for Gamecube. Yoshis Island could run very well. It is based on the version of Snes9x 1.51. It swirled also other roms very well. Would like to hear from you on this emulator.

As soon as I started this version I got an DSI exception. Doesn't run that well for me :P

I also realized this problem, but the second or third attempt, I managed to run the emulator. Would be very nice if the forum programmers give attention to this emulator, because after running, it runs very well roms.

Try this version, it still uses the base 1.51 of Snes9x and so far has worked very well here. I'm using Swiss r366 face load the emulator. I realized that the emulator that uses the base 1.52 or 1.53 of Sne9x not work well in the GC, it presents slow. The emulators that use the base 1.43 or 1.51 are great.

Try this, I compiled catsfc (a port of SNES9x 1.43 for libretro) with Retroarch 1.0.0.1. This should be fast enough to emulate most of games at full speed.

I personally just use catsfc-plus in the current retroarch stable, does the job well enough for me.

Oh man, if I can play Yoshi's Island without frame drops is already great because I only get to play well using the emulator with the base of Snes9x 1.43. As soon as test your compilation I put advising. Thank you!

Crashed out on load for me on a Gamecube, launched from SD from Swiss r366.

Worked for me. The audio stuttering in this emulator is just quite annoying.

The audio stuttering is caused by NO FRAME SKIP support in retroarch. I don't know where to download source code of castsfc plus, may catsfc plus is fast enough to avoid audio stuttering.
You can try to set down sample rates to see whether it is good or not.
