gc-forever - Gamecube/Wii Forums

I got a new controller today and I wanted to test it to makes sure the rumble worked fine. So I put in Melee on my wii and I found out the rumble didn't work. So I thought it was the controller. So I decided to make sure it was just the controller and put in controller port2 and then the rumble worked. So i tried it in ports 3 and 4 and it worked fine. So then I decided to try it with my other gamecube controllers rumble didn't work on any of them in the first port.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm not sure if I just need to clean out the port somehow or if it requires me opening up my wii and soldering something.

Never mind, I cleaned the contacts on the inside of the port more thoroughly and it works now. I'm glad I don't have to solder anything now.
