Gamecube Broadband Adapter DIY?

Hi there! :)

I recently found out that it is possible to play 8 players at Mario Kart: Double Dash if you use the NGC Broadband Adapter to connect two consoles.
I started searching for it and found out that it is rather rare and expensive so I wonder if it is possible to make your own solution to it, just wire it yourself?

Is there anyone out there who has opened it and taken a look at how it looks on the inside, if it is only a simple adapter between the NGC port and a modem cable or if it is more complicated?

Well, well, would be glad for answers!
Rasmus

There is a custom modem chip (Macronix mx98728ec), so it's not so easy..

do we have any bare naked pics of the BBA to add to the wiki?
maybe iggunr can take some close up shots since he has one with the case removed...
