Swapping SD/SDHC cards in Swiss not working

Post by Greg2600 » Fri Jun 27, 2014 3:23 am

So I went ahead, and got a Datel SD Media Launcher. Two questions.

First, at what point should I be able to swap the SD card (with Swiss) with SDHC card (games)? I'm loading into Swiss, and then I swap the cards. However, everytime I open the SD card, it's the file list from the SD (not SDHC) card which I already swapped out.

Second, can Swiss play ISO files? If not, is there a tool that can extract DOL from ISO, or convert from ISO to DOL?

Thanks,

Swiss plays ISO files and GCM files. It can also launch DOL files.

I really don't understand the bug (however there are some here who have experienced it, but I have no clue if they got it working), so I can't help you with that. I did have a similar problem at first with my Wiikey Fusion, but I don't know if it's the same procedure or even how I got it working.

I've had a similar problem with the Dreamcast SD adapters. I had to go to a Class 10 SDHC card to get it to see the card at all. I'll have to try a different card.

No my class 10 SDHC didn't work either. Great, well, this was a waste of money. In fact, what it seems to have done is taken the data that was on my SD card and moved it to the SDHC card, erasing whatever was there. This is absurd!

By the way, I think there was some SDHC issue with SDML, have you tried a 2gb≥ sd card? Just regular sd, no hc.
SD cards works in mysterious ways too, such as the big autoboot question.

Never heard a case of anything being deleted, this is beyond me.

You are correct in the usage.

I suspect you are your the Datel supplied reader which is junk.

Get a wii sd reader off ebay for $5 and you should be good.

I am using a 2GB SD card to start up Swiss. Tried F-Zero X on that SD card, and it just freezes at the first frame of the title movie.

I can't seem to find any on Ebay, did you have a direct link?

Greg2600, I believe you have also stumbled onto this bug in Swiss:

I'm working on fixing it with megalomaniac although I'm shooting in the dark as I don't seem to be able to replicate this issue on any of my setups :(

The price as risen since my post for the international searches.

I had the same "ghost file" issues when using the Datel reader.

Okay so I got one of these Wii SD adapters from China, didn't make a difference. So seems to be a Swiss issue.

However, what I found that works is if I put the SDML adapter with the SD card (Swiss) in Slot A, I can run games from Slot B with the other adapter and SDHC card. If the game needs a memory card, I use Slot A and take the SDML out. So that works! Was able to play Ikaruga and F-Zero X without issues. Mario Kart freezes on the early title screen.

there were a few changes to Swiss around this issue, try the latest from the nightly builds now that you have a better sd adapter.

Alright, I just did, and swapping the cards worked on both the Wii SD adapter and the SDML adapter. Mario Kart also loading. Thanks for your work.
