Hi all,
New to the modding scene and trying to figure out how I totally f'd up a gamecube. Here's what happened, tried to install a xenogc on a working gamecube, long story short I lifted a few traces on the mobo. For a while I was able to get it to turn on, but no video. I went back and checked for shorts I could have created when I was previously attempting to install leds on the controller board and everything was fine. I checked the controller boards cable, everything was fine. I checked the fuses on the power supply, both are good. Now all I get is the power light on for a second then off and the fan stays on. I need some help figuring out if this is definitely the disc drive or not, and if I can fix it. I also have noticed something with the disc drive ribbon cable that I wonder is an issue or not
Xenogc fail gamecube light flashes no video
Re: Xenogc fail gamecube light flashes no video
Does the GameCube boot up without the drive, if so, it's your drive.
Re: Xenogc fail gamecube light flashes no video
No it doesn't boot without the drive so that's the confusing part
Re: Xenogc fail gamecube light flashes no video
You have a short somewhere for sure, look for lose debris on the GC mainboard. Don't have the drive plugged in, it's not required to get video out.

Thanks, this was driving me insane but I figured it out, its the cable on the controller board. I must have touched it with the end of my soldering iron and melted the plastic a bit causing a short. Easy fix
